What are your views on flip plates? I hear if you get caught you can get charged with perverting the cause of justice. Has anyone had any experience with this? Surely an electric driven one can be disconnected at the switch if you were pulled over and they would be be none the wiser... Assuming they didn't see it flip.

And no I don't have one, in fact I've never seen one in person before

If I was going to do that I'd throw a plate up the road at 60MPH then keep it under the seat. Different offence...

Just take the plate off. Not that I would advise you to do either..

There are a few versions out there. There is also the option to use a GoPro mount with a swivel to tuck in.

Issue already stated that if they tug ya you will be in potentially bigger grief. Easy enough when riding if the blues and twos go on as (and I assume you put this post up due to you riding like many of us) because you can keep going but if stationery and they come over (Bike pub etc) you are in a world of trouble...trust me from experience

I don't understand why anyone would fit one, you will be in a whole world of pain if caught with one on the bike, they seem to be mostly fitted by camo trouser/hoodie wearing gixxer types.

Agree with Jazoli too, but as the OP is exactly what he describes then he’ll hopefully get one

Gixxer innit mate. Relentless fleece. Anodised tat all over the bike Relentless hoodie. Loud pipes, so loud ears bleed. Relentless fleece.

They will catch you eventually. When you are spotted going through cameras or traps with no plate, your pics go on a special list that is sent to all Police forces. They will track you down based on bike colour, helmet, leathers, where you are spotted, other camera footage etc.

Just search the internet for instances of motorists perverting the course of justice, they have made examples in recent years of car drivers using laser jammers, disguised plates etc.

Basically a flip plate will change the outcome of being caught speeding for you; Instead of points, or bans, which hurt your pocket and be an inconvenience, you get to go to prison for 6-12 months, which is a much more life changing.....

I detect you are implying something here laugh
I'm yet to ride my gixxer, I haven't even got the licence yet but who knows, those cammo jeans and relentless hoodies are the bee's knees. Add the flip plate and you've got me down to the T rolleyes

The technology for road cameras is good now. You get picked up on a speed camera with your plate hidden, it’s not a tough job for them to check all the other roadside cameras a few miles down the road and see your plate
They can then confiscate and destroy your bike and you’ll get done for oerverting the course of justice, and anything else the judge can come up with as, unsurprisingly, they take a dim view on this sort of thing
I always thought this sort of thing was for the type of rider that has a 12yr old gixxer and likes to claim it does 200
