Naill was on the circuit radio just before or just after quali and apparently Taylor and the team had sat down after FP3 and he announced that he wasn't really up to the task in hand?

Split was amicable by all accounts and he's hoping to be back on another bike again soon? I guess a non factory bike and without pressure to perform?

I did think the timing of the announcement was pretty strange though.
Sounds very similar to when Danny Buchan left the team - not quite performing - he seems to have done fine! Both young riders but in a team that needs the results to keep it going.

Rutter not riding at either Knockhill or Brands due to family commitments, which is a bit strange. He’s team owner though, so looks like he might be calling it a day with Mackenzie being the future?

Ah right, didn't know that he wasn't riding, it's a possibility as he must be well into his 60s by now laugh

He's never raced one, he did Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha in 2013.

Lets face it Taylor Mack has been pretty garbage for a few years now, so Tommy should hustle that thing better.

He’s not garbage. He’s just not at full fat BSB level, but good enough to win SS1000. The step up seems to be too much for most riders now which isn’t ideal for the future of the series.

Brad Ray skipped Superstock completely, and has looked incredibly strong. Mossey did the same. I think the talent does rise - it's just whether they stick around or go elsewhere, I can't see Ray staying in that paddock much longer.

Superstock feels like a bit of a fallback for some - drop back down, win the title and come back up the next year looking for a ride. I.e. Buchan, who just scored a double podium, to be fair!

It's the extra little bit of powaaa, no electronics and stiffer everything that makes the step up a bit difficult I'm told for some.

SS bikes are more forgiving. Again what I have been told.

Doesn’t that support what I’m saying though? The younger riders coming through all did it via SuperSport not Stock, Mossey, Dixon, Ray did this, Buchan is in his 3rd attempt in full fat, Cooper has struggled, Taylor Mac, Farmer a few years ago and so on. I’m struggling to think of someone who has been successful via SS1000 in recent years.

O Halloran is doing OK

Kirkham was rubbish in BSB, and even guys like Rutter and Hutchy did great in Stock but not BSB recently.

Its the same with Supersport, Kenan, Charpentier, Chambon, Fujiwara, Muggers, even guys like Moodie could dominate on a 600, but be fair to middling on a big bike
