What is the best and worse part/accessory you've bought?
Discussion
Best is probably the photochromic transitions visor for my shoei, bit pricey for a visor but I had some amazon vouchers for crimbo so cost me less than a normal tinted visor. Love it.
Worst is either the cheapo frank Thomas gloves I bought when doing my das, seams on the fingers split after a couple weeks, just crap. Or the Oxford battery charger/optimiser I bought, didn't last long.

Best: Kriega stuff, it’s brill. I have a full suite of gear.
Worst: a GoPro, it made me ride like a firkin knobber
I'm really 50/50 with the Kriega kit. The back packs, laptop bags etc are the dogs danglies but the tail packs, whilst great are such a faff. Granted once you've pushed throught that faff they are really good (waterproof, don't move when riding, look good etc) but shuld you need to stop and get your waterproofs out or something...Faff! I watched my brother and mate faff with their Kriega tail pack set ups on a long weekend and am glad I've moved onto the BMW Motorrad tail pack.Worst: a GoPro, it made me ride like a firkin knobber
I gave my Us20 and 2 x US10s to a mate about 5 years ago, who still uses them for trips now. I use my R30 back pack almost daily and have both the large and small single shoulder bags that receive occasional use.
Best: easily my Hein Gericke Voyager jacket. Red and black, so I feel like Jeff Stone presenting 'Two Wheels Better' when I'm out on my T595. I love it, it's just a great bit of kit. Clothing that absolutely works with you rather than against you!
Worst: probably an alarm blanking plug for the T595. I was recommended this by a supposedly informed owner's club member that it was definitely the right alarm plug for my bike with a Datatool Veto II system. Sadly, it wasn't, so I spent £30 on a cheap plastic plug with a couple of bridged pins. It doesn't fit the bike and is still sitting in my car door pocket until I eventually throw it out. I took it to Triumph when I was having trouble getting to the alarm plug. They confirmed it didn't fit but did an excellent job of gutting the alarm. Getting rid of that was a huge stress off my mind.
Runner up: R&G crash bungs for the T595. Cost £70, never fitted them. Found them in the garage a few weeks ago. Couldn't flog themfor half of what I had paid for them. Ended up in the bin.

Forgot one... the absolute worst piece of st crap box fking useless shag wking accessory of all time as fitted to my 2001 blade was a datatool alarm. Apart from just being the irritating battery sucking devices all alarms are, the remote wasn't even waterproof. Result was being stuck overnight at a services near Birmingham due to AA being useless and not being able to get anyone to me because I couldn't disarm the alarm as it was full of water. No amount of drying and fitting with a new battery would bring it to life. When a bike mechanic turned up in the morning he took the seat off, took of the alarm connector block and shorted out two connectors with a paper clip and the bike fired in to life in roughly 1 minute total.
Always have them removed and sledgehammered if fitted to any bike I buy.

Got stranded by a Datatool too. In fairness it gave me about 7 years of annoying but faultless service, but after that they get taken out if I buy a bike with one fitted. Always have them removed and sledgehammered if fitted to any bike I buy.

Oh yeah! They were a bad deal, even for free. A friend picked up his new bike and was livid that one of those noise boxes was fitted. They tried to charge him, but he ended up having to endure one for free for several years! Dismal.Always have them removed and sledgehammered if fitted to any bike I buy.

Yes, I would have nominated the Datatool Veto 2 on my bike as the worst accessory if I had paid for it. It came with one ancient remote which was well used replacements were difficult to find and expensive, even if you could find someone with the knowhow to code the new remote to the alarm. Even now, Datatool don't publicly disclose the dealer manual for the alarm, 21 years after the system was fitted. When I got rid of my alarm it was to ensure it wouldn't immobilise my bike if it went wrong or if the remote failed. A bonus was that the bike started much better without the drain lf the alarm on it.

Worst: The epically st XL Moto backpack we all bought when heavily reduced and then very soon found out why!
That backpack is the best purchase I’ve ever made - paid £13 delivered and when people had problems with it they gave me a £30 voucher and I got to keep the bag! I’ve never used it mind. Best - Photochromatic visor for my Shoei.
Best (for my son and missus as pillion passengers) - Oxford pillion belt handle grip thingy (the one the rider wears with grab handles attached for the pillion)
Worst - Cheap Shoei leathers I bought off Shcpock. Far too small for me and canny knackered too. However the seller was clearly a hardcore heroin user and I didn't fancy getting in to a situation with them as I was in their house at the time. Give him 30 quid for them and left pretty damn sharpish.
I eventually sold them on to a guy who used them for Minimoto racing.

Best accessory - Road 5 tyres replacing the plastic OEM Bridgestones
Worst accessory - Spidi X-Tour Adventure jacket with their H2-Out laminate waterproof coating. It was really good at being waterproof, and attached well to my Spidi Thunder trousers, but unless your arms only reach to your belly-button then I don't who it was supposed to fit. So short on arm length that all the water just funnelled up your arms.
Other best buys have been my A* S-MX 4 boots that are still waterproof after 4yrs and 20k+ miles, heated grips as after going through 5 different pairs of heated gloves these are just simpler to use and are reliable, TomTom, and Scala Packtalk which makes group rides much easier!

:-) It was a genuine question, there's a guy on another forum that put a sheepskin seat on his S1000R and took a lot of flak for it....his first name is george. Wondered if it was the same person.
Is it a red S1000R by any chance? If so, I think said George also let his sheepskin on for a trackday. If not there's two Georges who love a bit of sheepskin.
