Saw Phillip Neil walking out of NEC with Keith Farmer and Christian Iddon at about 12.30 today so I arrived at the conclusion they would be the riders.

Rea is a massively over rated rider in my eyes, couple of good years, lots of crashes and he doesn't look fit a lot of the time.

I’m not sure that’s fair. He spent last year learning tracks that he’d probably never ridden on before. I think he’s got another ride lined up, possibly back in WSS.

He came across very well when he did a stint in the studio on Eurosport coverage of WSB and very knowledgeable.

Eugene Laverty joins the Go Eleven team in World Superbike, but not on the Kawasaki. They have a V4 Panigale for next year, they are the old Sterilgarda Ducati team from Max Biaggi times.

He said he wanted to do another year a few months back as he didn’t want to end on such a st season. The cynic would also say that there were no WSB rides available so his options were very limited.

He’s been fairly badly injured from the crashes towards the end of last season too. He’s lucky he got checked out when he did as paralysis was a distinct possibility.

Trouble is the longer Ellison stays he’s just turning into a bitter journey man as he was forever the bridesmaid and not sure he’s even that anymore.

Next year is going to be Brooke’s v Bridewell and hopefully redding .

Bitter is a harsh word to describe him. He’s not quite done what’s needed and had a lot of bad luck both of which could describe Bridewell. For me next year is about Bridewell and Mackenzie with Ray challenging.

After me harping on about bridewell on here for years it looks like it finally might happen !

Do you not think Brooke’s is going to do anything?

He’ll take time to learn the new bike. He’s moved bikes / teams nearly every year now for quite a while and that’s not easy. He’ll make the showdown but might have such a podium points gap that it wont matter.

Over 20 riders confirmed for BSB already - 2019 looks like being a good season of racing.

It has been for a long time. I just wish they’d homologate domestic series with WSB and wildcards would be competing on an equal footing. Those days were awesome

My gut feeling is that 67 will be on a V4 with Wilf, but a bit later in the season, once he has the all clear.
If so, the Showdown works in his favour and he could still potentially be a title runner.....

I think he knows he’s finished and is just dragging it out for another year out of his personal sponsors. I’d love to see him back but Haslam proved that a dominant ride makes the showdown irrelevant this year

I don't think he'll be back personally.

Actually been good for BSB as he's been so dominant for the last few years.
