Air cup suspension lift

I think a number of people have fit air cup suspension lift systems. Can you share what you fitted?
I was looking at the Stanceparts kit but it appears it will be a very tight fit if at all.
Thanks
stance will be tight.I was looking at the Stanceparts kit but it appears it will be a very tight fit if at all.

I have one to fit to my car but I know it will need different springs or some machined spring perches to make fit. also not sure of clearance of outer cup to mounts etc.
plus finding room for 3 gallon this:

I have fitted a hydraulic system to my current GTR build for the exact reason you have mentioned, where do you put the 3 gallon tank? it is a ram lift pro and the hyd pump fits nicely next to the battery. I intend on posting some pictures shortly on the thread that asked about best modifications. Lee

Thanks, I would be interested in seeing some pictures of the the ram system. As far as the tank - I was thinking either behind the seats if room or in the passenger luggage compartment.Guys I have tried to get a picture of the Ramprolift system installed in my GTR but its just too buried for the picture to make any sense. Suffice to say it fits with the long side of the pump being mounted side to side just behind and below the steering rack on the opposite side of the battery. I built a tall skinny reservoir that mounts to the bulk head just in board of the steering shaft. the tank is 10 inches tall 1.25 inches in O.D. I connected the feed line for the pump 1.5 inches up from the bottom to allow room for any debris to be isolated away from the system. Don't forget to vent the cap. the lines from the pump to the cylinders was a straight forward deal. You will need to run shorter 5.5 inch tall springs to allow for the room that the cylinders take up. The transition piece between the spring perch and cylinder as supplied in the kit need to be modified very slightly to except our springs the I.D. of the transition piece is just a little to narrow. I decided that instead of using the two piece setup that the kit calls for : the stock spring perch and the transition piece that had to be slightly modified, that I would make one piece to do both functions. by doing it this way its a bit cleaner and you gain some room for the springs because my piece is a little shorter than the two piece solution. I hardily suggest this mod to all I think its going to make the car even more livable on the street.
I have a couple of sets of those one piece spring perches on the shelf if anyone's interested. Lee

Just a thought for those needing space for this type of thing in their Ultima.
If you have the factory luggage box there is a substantial space in front of it in the side pod.
Obviously access is an issue. A ‘hatch’ would need to be installed in the underside of the side pod, but there is quite a bit of space if you use both side pods.
I don’t have the factory luggage bins due to additional chassis bracing getting in the way so I now have twice as much ‘luggage’ capacity.

Here in Italy speed bumps are very high.
This modification is necessary if you want drive with a ground clearance adequate (110 front 160 rear).
Please help me with some pics, a small video on YouTube or something similar. What model of cups you have used on your Ultima? With standard dampers?

Update on air cup suspension. Doing a bit more work I am pretty sure the Stanceparts system will work for the front with minor mods. It won't work on the back, the air cups are just too big.
I am working with Stanceparts directly to get me some modified pistons to go in their standard cups. The Ultima factory dampers have inner spring diameter of 57mm and shaft diameter of 12.0mm. Both are too small for a standard offering from Stanceparts. I have the cups and it seems they will fit and work on the front with just the modified pistons. It will be 4-6 weeks before they do another production run and I will report back then. If it fits as I expect then it is a pretty reasonably priced option for front lift.

Very interested in how this goes, Stance lift kit is the next and hopefully last mod I do before I order the bodyI am working with Stanceparts directly to get me some modified pistons to go in their standard cups. Here are a couple of pictures. The first shows the cup installed on the front. Clearance is close but I believe it will work. I did have to bend over the tab for the brake line but no other mods. The tank and compressor fit perfectly behind the seat and still allows the seats to still be in the most rearward position.
Let me know any questions - happy to discuss and I will update as I hear from the factory on the custom pistons.
