Brilliant from Rins.

Set Marquez up previous lap, then out-thought him on the last corner.

Not quite out thought him, out tired/tyred (no idea) him, there's no chance he'd have passed him if that Honda didn't slide like that.

Not sure it was planned ?

you watch the replay and marquez's back wheel spins up and he goes a bit wide then rins jinks up the inside .

He went wide at the penultimate corner to square it off and get on the throttle earlier, then went wide into Woodcote again to cut back to the inside. I think it was deliberate but worked because of Marquez spinning the rear up as he got on it to the line.

Rins and Quartararo both had spinning/sliding out rear wheel in the first corner.
Rins saved it on the knee though.

exactly, MM93 had rear wheel slide while leaned over in the last corner and Rins used that split second slide to make a move. cool

What a finish! So pleased, not just for Rins but for Suzuki too! Men in sheds compared to some of the other manufacturers and their race departments.

The championship is done and dusted, but next year is shaping up to be brilliant. If Suzuki and Rins keep up their progress, Fabio stays on the upward trajectory with a year's experience under his belt and Ducati can make the tweaks they need, it should be killer!

Rins had the pressure on - took a wide line in, planning to go up the inside whatever else happened. If Marquez had been able to hold a tighter line, he would have, but he couldn't make the rear stick, with the throttle needed to keep Rins at bay. Marquez couldn't have been sure if Rins wasn't going to try round the outside again, so knew he had to go a bit wide, which the rear slip helped with.

Rins set it up, Marquez could have defended if he'd wanted to risk a slower apex, but that came with risk of Rins round the outside again.
