Did I? Thanks. I sort of lost my way with the thread as it meandered through the quagmire of abuse.

I'm not saying it's not his fault. I'm just saying when you, "call out something.. as BS", that's you lighting the touch paper.

I mean do you think he'll suddenly turn around and go, "you know what you're right Lindun, I was exaggerating to compensate for for my sense of smallness, and I lacked the awareness to realise that people are well informed enough to see I'm talking st on this forum, thank you very much for pointing it out to me in a public setting, and making me appear small and naive. You've helped me grow as a person and I am grateful for your insight"? biglaugh

Whatever anyway, you're a grown man, unless I'm mistaken I believe we've met and you're a decent enough bloke, but, and I mean this in as a respectful manner as possible, you are the fking Scrappy doo of the internet.
Does that make you Fred, as you’re solving the mystery? It’s more fun being the sidekick, as you never really got down and dirty with Daphne, although I still reckon Velma was probably pure filth and much more up for it.

I’d like the be the villain too, as I would’ve got away with it, but for you pesky kids.

SO, you basically say one cannot use the full performance of 1000cc sportsbike on the street.
Ah but you can you see, or you don't see, I used all the 140bhp of my fat slow sports tourer at the weekend for significant periods of time as I was trying to keep up with friends on their 200bhp superbikes who were thrashing the nuts off them but making sure they were changing up at 3-4000rpm and using the torque as any more than that and they would not be able to use it and would have died a fiery death or ended up in prison, or possibly both....

It’s not though is it. Plenty of arguments raging and I’m not the only one involved (I’m not involved in many at all) but it’s important to apply that confirmation bias.

All I’ve done on here is call out something that I see as BS and the other one has gone nuclear in his replies.

Hahahahaha. I like it.
He IS the scrappy-doo of the Biker Banter section of PH.
Having spent an absolute stonking fortune on bikes and biking for many decades and having ridden bikes on every continent bar the very coldest one i need no stamp of approval from a dimwit who chooses to not believe what people genuinely put into a reasonable (until his sour face appeared) forum thread. It was an apt question to which i and other people offered reasonable views. He decided to get shirty and a few people made him aware of his idiocy and rudeness.
I am at bike meets all the time with (any 1 of) all my bikes on a regular basis and it's the people i've grown to know and respect over time AT those meetings i would be far more concerned about should they have constructive criticism of something i have said or done.
Not idle presumptions from a faceless and argumentative goon in his mum's basement.

The bottom line, is anyone regularly using the FULL performance of, say, my B King or say, a current ZX10R like the one my son in law currently owns WILL end up in jail, dead or kill some other poor fooker. Or at least lose their licence. Our luck riding like that won't last too long on the roads and nor should it; on the public highway.
The occasional bit of fun i think most owners of high-powered bikes have, few of us are angels and not me, but you really need to pick your places to have a reasonable chance of not screwing up.

The average speed of a litre bike at the TT is over 120 mph (yes a standard bike on road tyres rather than slicks would be a bit slower). When I’m out for a ride I try to ensure I don’t exceed 120 mph and even when I’m pushing it, because of having to consider road users, blind bends, the unexpected and building in a healthy safety margin I doubt my average on A and B roads is above 60 mph. I therefore can only conclude that I am a long way from exploiting a litre bike to its full potential.

Litre bikes are more relaxing to ride though because overtaking is easier as you don’t need to ensure you are in the power band.

Having been on the receiving end of Loon/Lindun’s BS I certainly agree with that analysis. Where there is a bun fight on BB there is a good chance that he is behind it!

As an aside, is there a more annoying and pointless cartoon character than Scrappy Doo? Although Tweety Pie and Road Runner are up there too.
