Does this look too good to be true? - Hoping to go and see it tonight/tomorrow - a 94 Yellow daytona 900 with just 11,000 miles - past history certainly suggests mileage is genuine at only 11,000 and price seams pretty reasonable, only slight concern is chap (who seems very pleasant) has 2 for sale and owns a vehicle repair workshop repairing vehicles but claims the daytona isn't a rebuild. Ive owned 7 or 8 daytona's since they first came back out in 93/94 and quite fancy going back to a very early early one again to sit alongside my Blade as a bit of retro fun. what do you guys think... worth a look?

ahhh just did a vehicle check and everything is legit on mileage but its flagged up as an import. Its passed all its last few years of Mots so does it really matter that it's an import? - would that bother anyone from buying it? ta!

Why would it matter if it was an import? it was built here, most of the bikes and cars driven in the UK are imported from somewhere, I don't see how it would make the slightest bit of difference.

Its doesn't bother me if its an import but I know it does other folk and can have an effect on the overall value - I know some folk would not buy an import but its not an issue for me - just thought id see if other folk think its important

Only issue would be history pre-import. How confident are you that the history is genuine ?

That was my concern too - I'll need to see when the history starts from (in the UK) to see if I can work out anything before it came here. My concern is that its been damaged prior to coming back to the UK where its past doesn't come with it. I'll check the bike over carefully when I go to see it. According to a paid data search - it was first re-registered in the UK in 2001. Its had 8 uk owners since then but could have had any number of owners from 94-01. Worth going to see anyway and may leave an offer if its great condition.

Wasn't grey importing bikes reasonably popular back in that era? I remember reading articles in PB etcetera about it.

settled on 1500bux so if its a dog (and the 11,000 miles on the clock aren't genuine) its still cheap enough to be a fixer upper!

When people ask thousands for rusty old CB750s that's a lot of cool bike for the money! looks like a great buy. Yellow is the best colour for a Daytona.

It looks like the forks have been dropped a long way into the yokes and its sitting low at the back, its probably good idea to put them and all the suspension back to standard settings before riding it very far, it may have well been lowered for a shortarse rider but a lot of lowering kits leave no ground clearance and compromise the way it rides.

Apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs smile

Edit, I could well be wrong after looking at period pics, Triumph just probably used what was available and dropped them in the yokes.

T300’s are for nothing right now.
Deal of the century.
I paid a grand for this Trident.
That’s a lot of bike for the money.
The build quality is exceptional. There’s bugger all corrosion on it.

That Trident is in stunning condition - these bikes just keep getting better looking the older they get!
