Funny story...

I thought it's a dry day today, wife's out and I've got my Keis stuff to play with. I'll re-tax it and go get a test ride on an Interceptor.

It wouldn't start. The starter switch and relay have failed. Again. First time was about 300 miles in... now it's on about 1600!

Stuck something across the terminals and left it with the local dealer. Rubbish.

Crikey, I dodged a bullet there then. Went to test ride one and he wanted me to pay for the bike before I could go on it, so that night I bought a 2016 Street triple R. Owned it 18 months and it's been a great bike.

Strange that, have heard of people having issues but mines done 1800 and been faultless touch wood. Gave it a run the other day first time in about 2 months and started on the button.

I wonder if it’s possible to plug and play replace with the mt10/tracer 900 switch.

My starter switch also failed on mine, I'd forgotten it did.

I have an mt10. Had an mt09sp as a longer and thought it was great.

More fun than the r1 they gave me last time.
Felt so nimble and character compared to the mt10 which is a bit of a lump.

Never had any weave issues in the couple of hundred miles I did. Maybe your riding technique needs work...

Managed to get a track-day in on my XSR900 (so essentially the same as later MT09's) a few months ago, I have changed to flat / lower bars, changed rearsets, S22 tyres and some 9.5 springs in the forks and I had a blast on it, absolutely no headshakes, weaving or anything of the such.

I did have issues when I first had the bike when the fork pre-load was wound down a little on the standard (very, very soft) progressive springs, when accelerating over slightly bumpy ground it would get a shake on. SInce the fork spring change, no issue.

I know some on here claim this platform of bike is a borderline death-trap but find it hard to believe they are all like this considering the numbers of these things out there - they have sold them by the bucket load if you take the XSR900, MT09 and MT09SP

I hear the SP does come with some 'odd' suspension settings / rear spring rate but a £40 trip to a specialist and £100 on a spring may put that right, you can argue you shouldnt need to do that with a new bike of course.....

I rode a stock XSR900 on track in Portugal and, although i'm not by any means a fast rider, I thought it was great. I had no issues with wayward handling at all. I preferred the Street Triple R I also rode, but not by much.
