Failed my Mod 2...
Left a roundabout no problem and heading down here, doing 55-60 mph. All good.
And then I see these signs:
bd!
Turns out, there's a ~200 metre stretch off of the island that's 40 mph, though it isn't sign posted. A common failure point apparently. I'm not from the area either which doesn't help. I assumed the whole lot was 60mph, so I was a little over the limit
Ah well, get it next time.

Oops! Bad luck, easily done. Otherwise did it go OK?
Yeah no problems at all.He said my riding is perfectly fine, just doing 20 mph over the limit is somewhat discouraged
The location is awful in fairness, Wolverhampton test centre.
So it's either 45 mins of crawling traffic with drugged up pedestrians running into the road, or ring road after ring road.

Passed theory test second go.
Needed additional training to pass the CBT.
Passed Mod 1 third go (damned u turn!)
Passed Mod 2 on second go this afternoon!
Don't give up! It can be done! Now to make a ruinous financial decision at the bike dealers this weekend!
Congrats, perfect timing!Needed additional training to pass the CBT.

Quick update - I passed my MOD2 test today with 1 rider fault (use of signal at a roundabout). I even encountered a driver run a red light and turn right in front of me so had to do an emergency stop. Absolutely made up!
Congrats mate!stepaway said:
Pleased to say I passed first time, 1 minor for being 1km under the speed on the avoidance manoeuvre, everything else was peachy
Well done! That's exactly the same result I had from my (final) MOD1 attempt! Best of luck with your MOD2.freakybacon said:

That’s unlucky. When I was learning, the instructors took us round all these usual fail spots were you might miss the signs. Left a roundabout no problem and heading down here, doing 55-60 mph. All good.

Then of course I missed a turning on my test and ended up going a completely different route to what was typically done

Passed mod 1 today and no minors. Very pleased about that.
We did mod 2 training on way home and instructor says I am ready so booking mod 2 now.
When you pass lets discuss some good stuff that I've been learning since mod2?We did mod 2 training on way home and instructor says I am ready so booking mod 2 now.
Trail braking, how to ride in crosswinds, etc? I've learnt loads of extra stuff since.
Watching motorcyclist crash vids on YouTube really helped too.

I posted a few days ago about how I'd failed my Mod2, though that test was actually a month or so back.
I had my Mod2 again today, and I only went and bloody passed
2 Minors, for failing to make progress on a dual carriageway (overtaking the usual Honda Jazz crowd)
Who cares.
Absolutely buzzing my tits off.
Now I just need to get the ER6-F I've had since last August running properly.
The instructor took me and another lad to the centre at the same time, though he was the first test. I spent the hour or so wait I had to endure reading through this thread (and it's inherent positivity).
My Dad has a GSXR that did 200 miles last year. My stepdad has a cruiser that only gets used for a 1 mile commute.
Can't wait to be able to get out with both of them.
Excuse the helmet hair and my awkward mug.
Cheers

I used trail braking on track a lot in cars.

I would be interested to hear about that. I do plan to do further training.

I trail brake alot on my mountain bike on very steep trails. I couldn't explain how or when I do it, it's automatic. On a motorbike it's the absolute opposite where I'm saying OK now now now off off off I used trail braking on track a lot in cars.
Congrats to everyone who has passed recently. It’s turning into a great little thread, reading about how everyone is getting on. It’s nice to see some positivity! Apols for the lack of contributions since Monday. I’ve gone and made a big jump and bought a Kawasaki Z900RS as my first bike. Love the looks of it and although I’ve only only managed one ride since I picked it up, I think it’s an awesome bit of kit.

Great looking retro bike.Yesterday was the first time I really began to get close to the red line on the learner 650, it always felt brisk but when wound up in the lower gears it actually felt quite powerful to me, I guess it will take a while before us newbies can tap in to the full performance- if ever?
