Keep it in your pocket and away from the bars.

Don't get distracted by it.

Have look at Quadlock on Amazon. Great mounts and really small footprint on the bars. I have one on my Triumph bobber.

Yep, and as long as you have a P30 and not a P30 Lite (like I have), they have a case for it. I got a universal mount and a waterproof case for mine, it's really good.

Are you looking at the bicycle mount by any chance?

This is the one you want:

Though I have the mirror mount on my bike.

Mines held on with a two part plastic clamp that is more than secure enough. Check that you're looking at the motorbike ones and not the bicycle ones.

Quadlock and UltimateAddons widely deemed the best here. Quadlock look brilliant and are really simple but lots of reports of them destroying any phone camera that has an optical stabilisation system. Worth thinking about.

Ultimate Add-ons much more bulky but better protection and dont seem to suffer the same problem.

I've got the quadlock with an Iphone X and had no issues.

Quadlock are about to release a vibration damper, definitely sensible for any OIS phone that's out of warranty.

I'm very pleased with my Ultimate Add-Ons case - I use the generic case with my Xiaomi Mi A2 on both my Thruxton 1200 and push bike.

I went for it as it's a waterproof case, and my phone isn't.

I use an SP Connect mount and case:

https://sp-connect.co.uk/collections/motorcycle

Very sturdy metal mount with adjustable arm. Plenty of cases available, either phone model specific or generic.

Bit pricey, but very well made, and I like the fact that the arm allows you to lift the phone off the bar height and closer to your field of vision.

I’m assuming the OP wants it for sat nav, as I use it for.

I think the advantage of me not riding round lost, in a tiz, thinking I’m going to be late, is greater than the disadvantage of the minor distraction it could be.

Ultimate add on cases are excellent quality, in fact so good I now have several for obsolete phones, so in future I'll be buying one of their universal fit cases!

I have a Quadlock bicycle mount, secured to my ZRX handlebars with cable ties, it's never moved, using an iPhone 7 plus.

Me too. Biking requires 100% attention on the road and riding all of the time. No room for error.

You need to tell Honda that....

In all seriousness, I agree with your sentiment, but the benefits of access to sat-nav for me outweigh the potential distractions.
