I feel your pain with this good luck with sorting it out.
Between Birky and yourself, I find myself looking at RS250s far too often
I d imagine they must be a joy on track.
I mean this was at track from an IG rider and getting me on it a bit https://www.instagram.com/reel/Dc4HgJaMWDJ/?stkn=a...Between Birky and yourself, I find myself looking at RS250s far too often

Gareth. How do you rate the Himalayan against the big Scrambler?
No comparison, really. Each does the job for which it was acquired. The Scrambler is the modern incarnation of the US-spec BSA/Matchless/Norton/Triumph street scramblers I couldn't afford when I was 16.
The Himalayan was bought as a winter bike (and has become an occasional green-laner). The Triumph is too pretty to use year-round.

They both bimble happily around the lanes, they both do 60 on A-roads, but the Scrambler can overtake.

All in all, much as you'd expect for £4k and 24bhp vs £12k and 89bhp. You just have to re-calibrate your riding brain when you switch from one to the other.

Good price but a little far for me. Thank you though.
That s an odd barrier. Most will deliver at low cost or jump on a plane / train and enjoy the ride home. Distance is a bonus.[url]

Just rode until I was completely lost , one of my favourite bits of a w/end ride out , now trying to make my way with no sat nav / maps etc to somewhere I know , just signs & that feeling your going in the right direction .
Haven’t used bike for a bit as bloody uncomfortable seat defeated me , but strangely did 40 miles and felt ok , was going to park it up for the winter , glad I didn’t .
Going to keep it for the 3 yr pcp now , it’s all the bike I need , and 400 Pa tax/ins is cheaper than a cheap £2,000 bike or another bike on a pcp , will order tail tidy / rad guard & maybe a noisier can ,we will see .
Weather was lovely .

Thanks. It s exactly what I m looking for as my Ducati Scrambler is a bit of a tart. It s brilliant for the Derbyshire roads and farm tracks and can really hustle with its upgraded Nitron, but I d hate to drop it with all fancy bits bolted to it.

There's a bloke from up your way on YouTube (adventures with foster) who's been giving his Himalayan a proper kicking on the green lanes. He hasn't broken it yet... well, he's broken bits of it, like the screen. Im kicking myself for not picking up a Scrambler 411 for £3k new.

I wanted something cheap, with a warranty, that I didn't have to worry about too much, so the RE was ideal. Used, I suppose that there might be better options, depending on whether you want lighter for the dirt or faster for the tarmac.
It's understandable that not everyone gets on with them, so ride one and see what you think.
Gear position sensor on my R1150RT has been bugging me for a couple of years now, been stuck on showing 3. General YouTube videos has the swing arm needing to come off but just dropping the exhaust got me straight in, dismantled the switch, cleaned everything up and Roberts your father’s brother.

Lift paid for itself today

Picked this up today to end my four year hiatus of not having a "proper" big bike, after stupidly selling my CB1100 post leg break.
I see why people love Street Triples - such gorgeous responsive handling and an engine which loves to rev & rev.
Needs a service (due on time - a year since the last one) and a rear tyre (it's OK tread wise, but has a date code of 2014 - oddly the front tyre is pretty much brand new!) which I'll set about sorting this week. Done 7k miles and it doesn't look like it's ever seen the rain!
