Pretty cool, what are they off?
Yokes are from 1973 ST50 DAX, tubes are from SkyTeam Dax copy SkyMax, these are 30mm, there are 26mm too , depends on year of production.
Had to wrestle with long 30mm reamer to get rid of welding seams protuding inside the tubes.
Cutting/bending/shutwelding the turn signal mounts was another job,
but now the turn signals should fit, did not want to waste a ST70 yoke as they are quite rare.
Modern forks with 190mm disc is required, also beefed up swingarm,
to legally mount ( in Germany ! ) a 110cc Honda Nice engine into the classic MiniBike.
Engine is big-bored & stroked to 175cc and about 20hp, should be scary but fun, sort of a Resto-Mod.
A bit late to the party but me and my mate also got out last weekend when the weather was nice. Felt like a spring day, not middle of February.
Anyway, we ended up doing 120 miles on our little Honda CRF's and most of it was road riding. With the salt still being quite bad around here, we decided to take the dual sports and save getting our road bikes covered in crap.
We ended up at Burrington Combe which is basically a mini Cheddar Gorge (but the road is better) so we stopped for a break/chin wag and to look at the suicidal goats that were hanging off of the cliffs. Whilst we were there, a chap turned up on a mini bike he had built at home with a RD250 lump in it. He said it gets a bit scary at speed lol.

Went over for a browze around the new Superbike Factory at Milton Keynes.
Factory is an approriate word as most of it seemed over priced ste, bought unseen from the freeads/gumtree and thrown into the show.
Er6 below typical of the “prep” I saw.
Maybe a little harsh but very few genuine and nice bikes amongst the hoards.
the salesman we spoke to didnt display or have any interest in the bike my friend was considering , couldnt be assed to go and find out any basic info, intially he said he couldnt pull it out from the row of bikes due to “health and safety issues due to the crowd”
Wouldnt recommend purchasing from them anyway.

Eventful afternoon working on the bike. First off an oil change. Unfortunately found this stuck to the sump plug:
The bike runs fine so was unsure what this is. No idea whether it’s recent or not as I only installed a magnetic sump plug last year. I cut open the oil filter and fortunately no metal in there so I’m happy it’s not major for now. Maybe something will happen in the future, maybe it won’t.
Next off was a bit of cleaning. The exhaust is off the bike currently so I took the opportunity to clean the front of the engine/frame given access is much better.
This was after a good scrubbing:
Pretty pleased with this as it’s the original 34 year old finish. Still looking good!

Decided to watch couple mates are brands today and as usual the bug got the better of me so after an hour I asked if there was any spaces (was fully booked leading upto it)
By luck there was in inters and my thinking was I've not been on track since May 22 due to my MX broken leg in June, it's my road bike and I have 3000+ mile knackered Michelin road tyres
Felt a bit rusty first sesh but had a cracking pic taken. End of first session had a marshall ask why my bike was sparkling and initially I thought I was just decking it out... Then remembered I had my road leathers (not the track 1pc) which has Wiz sparky sliders!! Felt like a right nob but by luck my mate had a spare set so used his for the rest of the day. Did make a good pic though
Had to ride to the fuel station at lunch as I literally had nothing on me but all day on track riding from Essex to Kent and back was only two tanks of fuel!
I very much found the limitation of a more road biased tyre... Damn thing once warm was squirming and spinning everywhere. Had the rear at about 27 and front at 31 as per Michelin track guidelines
The middle which was way past it's best didn't wear anymore on track but it killed the sides
Then end of the day the guy I watched loaded up and went and one of the other guys who was riding back with me said to get a quick pic below
Was so cold today though. Must've been 3 degrees in the morning and about 5-6 at peak in the day

Bike lease had come to an end so had to say goodbye to the BMW F850 GS
But I did change for this BMW RNineT Scrambler. So much nicer to ride, and feels alot quicker. Excited for the warmer weather.
I like the scramblers, what makes it nicer to ride? I imagine a gs sets the bar pretty high anyway? But I did change for this BMW RNineT Scrambler. So much nicer to ride, and feels alot quicker. Excited for the warmer weather.
Quick ride out this morning, a bit chilly!

First time the GSXR has seen some daylight since October. It has its mot this week so I thought I'd dig it out and give it a good going over. Taking it for a spin in a few minutes time and I can't wait. Been riding the 250 all winter so looking forward to having a change.
