Really looking forward to proceedings kicking off this weekend, on what looks like being a fantastic season.
So who do you fancy to take the title this year?
Bagnaia for me, sure he'll be pushed a few times by Martin as well.
Quartararo will certainly be up there again, but obviously still questions regarding the Yamaha's top speed.
Can never discount Marquez especialy if he remains injury free, proved at the end of last season he's still mentally up for it.
The Suzuki's didn't fair too bad in pre-season, so surely them, Miller and Zarco will take a few wins, and would like to see Espargaro and the Aprilia get to the top of the Podium for one.
Bring it on

Bagnaia for me, just can't see past him.

I think Fabio will struggle and end up a poor 3rd or 4th, with Mir 2nd based on consistency.

The wildcard is Marquez, undoubtedly still got it, but can he do it everywhere rather than just tracks that go anti-clockwise.

Hopefully Aprillia can get a podium or two.

Agreed re. the Aprilia, I'd love to see them mixing it at the front and maybe nicking a podium or two, maybe a win.

I wouldn't like to pick a winner from the rest, for me no-one stands out as a real favourite for various reasons and I could see at least 5 riders with the potential to win a race, so hopefully that'll make for a great season-long battle.

I'll definitely be more keen to watch Moto2 this year as well now that Dixon seems to be getting on with his new bike/team and hopefully Lowes will pick up where he left off last season. Then there's Acosta who I'd love to see blitz the field...got to love an alien rookie!!

My predictions-

First race- Morbidelli, Bagnaia and Pol on the podium, not sure of the order.
Season- Bagaia, Fabio, Mir, Pol and Marquez fighting for the championship

First wins- Pol. Bastianini, Maybe Marini, certainly can see him on podium.

Who's last season in Moto GP top class-- Zarco. D Binder, Vinales, Dovi. I can see Rins at Yam in 2023

Rookie of the Year - Raul Fernadez or Digi

Jorge Martin. As long as he doesn't break himself.
Expecting a win from Johan too.

I can't see past Bagnaia for the championship, Ducati have the best package. Fabio will be up there but that Yamaha still isn't as quick as a Ducati in a straight line. The rest will all be too inconsistent. Marquez is the unknown, I'm interested to see how he does in the first few rounds.

I reckon Acosta will run away with Moto2. Lowes will have a good first half of the season and then fade as usual.

Bagnaia, Marquez and Quartararo fighting it out for the championship I reckon.

It's going to be a great season, the gulf is narrowing. Martin will probably also be strong, and I sincerely hope Zarco can bring some magic, last year was a terrible disappointment. Would be nice to see Aprilia close the gap down to the other bikes, not that it's too far off now.

Maverick's year of redemption.

Will be a record yr for Aprilia in terms of Moto Gp podiums.

Let's go....

I find the testing hard to read.

Clearly Ducati have a strong base bike, a healthy budget and are collecting data cross 8 bikes on the grid...

It wasn't like they locked out the front across all of testing.

But hard to see past them.

If anyone wants to challenge, they will have to clock up some points against Ducati in the early rounds.

Will the Bologna machine put too much pressure on Peco?

Was interesting to see that Fabio was still up there in testing - has the Yamaha's cornering speed and ease of handling increased in proportion to the Ducati's straight line speed?

Marquez seems to have a better hardware and physical starting point that last yr - but will stay on bike or will he go out with a bang??

An then - 2023 - Pedro Acosta Moto Gp world champion...??!

Scrub that - Pedro Acosta fighting Sam Lowes for the 2023 Moto GP World Championship :-)

I think you have to wait til the European war starts to really see. Qatar is a Duke track so if MM and Fabio or Suzuki do well there they might have good years

Ducati have a history of messing about with a good bike too much and losing an advantage, as do all the factories to be honest. They did it with Loris, Stoner and Rossi/Lorenzo/Dovi over many seasons.

And really, only Marquez and the likes of Rossi, Stoner and Jorge have been able to make the difference with poor bikes.

If the 2022 Ducati is poor I do not know if Pecco has the ability ride around issues as Marquez has been doing for years.

My tip for wildcardery is Bastianni, who was meteoric last year almost as if they found something that helped him massively. And you never know if Remy or Raul will suit or hate the KTM they both ride so very differently. Remy like Binder Raul like Miguel.

My hope is that Suzuki and Rins do better as he has pace but needs a new head lol!

And it could all depend on tyres, Oliveira was immense in 2020 and the tyre changed and he was at sea in 2021, so maybe we have to wait and see how the 22 tyres work out, it seems to affect the bikes more than anything else.

Maverick clean sweep at Qatar.

Marquez to narrowly win the title over the season, in a Mir like fasion by being consistant.

The only clean sweeping Mav will have at Qatar is the dust out of the garages at the end!

MM93 reckons Fabio and Pecco are the favourites, which is probably right. Ducati's top speed advantage seems no bigger than last year so Yamaha should still be good enough to win, certainly in Fabio's hands.

From BB's ratings seems to me MM93, Mir and Martin are somewhat underrated!

Miller and Zarco are under big pressure to perform well or lose their seat to Bestia.

I’d like to see it but the second something goes wrong his head will be all over the place, he’s one of the fastest for sure but he’s no racer in my opinion.

If Pol’s clicked with the Honda I think we’ll see him contending for the championship.

Overall this is going to be a very competitive year.
