Rob 131, I too yearn for the return of the 500's they sounded better, looked better and were ridden by Gods!

I cannot relate to Marquez and Fabio etc as much as Rainey, Schwantz, LAwson et al.

I know the bikes are just as hard to ride now,
They are no where near as unfriendly as back then in the 500 class. From the odd fortunate few that have had the privilege of riding these modern gp machines it would appear they have torque and power smoothly all the way up to the limit.

I am convinced you could pootle around a track on one without high siding smile One quote from back in the 500 era that has always stuck with me was the fact some of those bikes could actually seize if not on full throttle due to fuel and oil settings, I probably wouldn't of made it to the 1st corner without a major mechanical rolleyes

As for this year, no idea who's gonna stomp away but its nice to see moto gp recordings starting up on the virgin box , even if it is a small insignificant thing to distract us from the impending doom surrounding us.

Unless there's another thread, I didn't see that result coming yesterday.

Won't give anything away, but it looks on the surface that it will be a very interesting season ahead.

Not sure why security threats were dragged into it, the track has been known to be not ready and having too much still to do for a while now.

I'd love to go to see a round, already been looking at the overnight ferry....

MotoGP wanted a round in Russia but didn't actually want to be in Russia, so picked the closest track. I understand the Finns have shut the border to Russia due to the security situation in Eastern Europe

Also if the Spa 24 hour goes well, then there will be a GP at Spa.

Aleix and maverick re-signed for 2 more years at Aprilia……

Vinales should be down the casino tonight to cash in on this obviously incredible lucky streak! laugh

If no new team joins and Suzuki does leave there's going to be some very nervous riders surprisingly great performances over the next few weeks.

Pol for a win would get a good return at the bookies.

Have literally no idea what Aprili are thinking signing Vinales for two bloody years, he has been next to useless so far.

I wonder what Binder thinks about this, he's contracted to RNF for another year?

Will VR46 pick up the satellite Yamaha's? What will Yamaha do if they only have 2 bikes on the grid, what will Fabio think/do?

If you were Rossi and had endured the last couple of years and seen the situation this year, would you choose Yamaha? No obviously not, he cannot direct the development, he would simply be at the back with his team, he is best off with Ducati or maybe Honda but I don't see that happening. Not KTM and you would be foolish right now to want to run Yamaha's

I'd have to agree, it would be a fairytale for Vale and Yamaha, but right now it's probably no-one would be screaming to chuck millions at just to make up the numbers.

Ducati even the lower spec bikes are equal/better than the Yamaha, plus he's Italian so I don't see that happening, just spitballing the idea.

I think it's only an option for 2023. Actual contract expires end of 22.
