While a little chonkier than the "true" SMs, this is by far the most fun bike I've ever ridden. And I've owned it for nearly 9 years.

I always wanted one of those. Possibly my ideal bike.
(my old fettled TDM850 streetfighter was similar in concept, if not nearly as good).

Again a bit heavier than a true SM but I picked up a Hypermotard 939SP late last year and it has really got under my skin! Just a fun bike for pretty much all riding, will be taking it to the Picos this September but in the mean time doing big loops around where I live (S W Wales). My old Fireblade hasn't turned a wheel since getting it, highly recommend a test ride if looking down this route.

I'm always tempted every time I see a Husky 701, look great fun and ideal for me at 6'5.

A 230 mile loop and no aches and pains, just a silly grin for most of it!

Had a baby-moto CRF250M back in 2014-15. Liked it but seat was a plank, under-powered for all but urban jaunts, but wasn't that good for urban jaunts because the wider bars made tight filtering harder. Very reliable, but was a police magnet because your average plod couldn't tell the difference between a legit rider wearing proper gear riding a legit bike and one of the many helmetless, t-shirted scallies popping wheelies & baiting them throughout the city.
2019 I got a loan of a Husky 701 'moto for a few months (Thirsty Husky as my cousin named it). It addressed the performance problems & was awesome at sliding round roundabouts, but otherwise still had all the issues the smaller bike had. It didn't feel particularly well put together either.
As a second bike or if my riding was rural back-roads for maybe 1 hour at a time, I'd love another. The most fun bike I've had.... but not at all suited to 90% of my normal usage.

Ive had a Honda CRF450R, Husaberg 650, KTM 690SMCR and a KTM 990SMT.

Most fun was the 690. I still find myself wanting another. Was suoerb for commuting as it was so agile and light and could hold its own on a country road ride. I did a 4 hour motorway round trip on it once, it wasnt a fun experience.

Not a "true" supermoto but of all the bikes in my garage, this is the one I gravitate to pretty much every time I open the door.

It's absolutely hilarious to ride biggrin

I'm going to be the odd one out here I think.
Always had inline fours including Blackbird, CB1000R and a couple of v twins TLR and a Firestorm over the last ten years.
Decided I needed to slow down a bit so bought a CCM 644ds.
Hated it. Agricultural, rattly, slow weird riding position, uncomfortable. Just couldn't get on with it.
Then I crashed it at and broke my ankle and the bike ended up in a ditch full of water so that was the end of that.
Perhaps I was doing something wrong wink

Crashing into a ditch is fairly usual biggrin

I've been riding my Speed Triple for weeks, when I jumped back on my 990SM it took me 30 minutes to get back into it so I can see that if you're used to road bikes you might not get on with them

That said I haven't ridden a CCM but I believe they are pretty good

Fantastic weekend in Wales this last weekend. 250 mile loop totalling 6.5 hours riding time and the bike was no problem at all (my new helmet on the other hand....).

It also did fairly well on the highway back. I love this bike sooooo much. Black Mountain Pass was amazing on it.

I used to have on3 - CRF450R, full titanium Akra, carbon fibre bodywork, carbon hubs on anodised red rims. It was really yobby and really loud and made me ride like a tt. Fire came out of the exhaust. It had no stand which was a bit of a pain.

I got rid of it as it was going to get me in trouble which made me not ride it.

It's really childish but I was so happy when I found my 950 shot 2' flames out on the overrun

It also explained the 30mpg laugh

Funnily enough I just came across this pic of the back wheel of my supermoto this morning. Dribble. It's a thing of beauty

I imagine the poster means that it is a bit of a hooligan bike that responds in such a way to egg you on to ride it hard (yes, we know the throttle goes both ways etc...)

another fan here. i have a 2020 590 smcr.

previously i had a 690 sm (58 plate) which was only half the real thing and before that i had an xr650r so really love these types of bikes as.....a second or third bike.

The garage includes a late tuono factory and as such, i have all the bikes i need.

Had a couple of "soft " supermotos over the years, a DRZ E converted to sm, and CCM 404, which uses the same E spec motor, but that one has had some tuning done, big bore and stroked crank, so mid 50's hp , which I still own.
Great on twisty back roads, and cant imagine what a proper one goes like, always fancied a Husaberg, or a prillia svx. But the maintenance costs put me off.
Seats are like razor blades though, and limits all day fun to a few hours Max, subjective person to person, but that was my take on them.
If you're interested in a duke 890 though, I can definitely recommend that.

I bought one of those after I’d been away from bikes for a few years, with a set of offroad rims too I thought it would’ve the perfect bike for fun road riding and some laning, it was bloody horrible, slow and vibrated like buggery on the road, and too heavy offroad.
To show how things have moved on I recently bought a 690 Enduro, which is fantastic, the engine is incredibly smooth for a big single, I was going to pick up a set of 17” rims but they are like rocking horse st, so fitted a road biased front tyre, the Multistrada has hardly been out the garage since I picked it up.
