Probably the slowest bike mentioned so far, but I have enjoyed my Drz400SM. I prefer it for local runs to my Sv1000.

Mine from when I was younger (probably about 30 years ago)
Xt600 tenere, wisco piston 11 to 1 comp ratio ish, srx carbs(no kit for xt carbs, supertrapp exhaust, 18 inch front (tdr250) and 17x3.5 j rear, fzr1000 disc and gsxr1100 caliper, no leccy start converted to kick-start
Mallory park it would start and finish with a 750/4 of the time, me faster round corners and them on the straight for some strange reason
Also used to do courier work in the city of London and nearly flipped going across broadgate

More of a runabout than a touring bike, use it mostly for suburban driving. Have not tested its capability of driving up and down stairs yet.

I haven't ridden an electric bike - are there modes to change the power delivery ?

135kg - presumably it could be set to be a real hooligan machine

There's three modes: eco, custom and sport. Eco and sport can be tuned by the dealer; custom you can tune with the app:

The only setting that cannot be emulated by being careful with the twist grip is the neutral regeneration. I use 100% for city driving and 0% for open roads.

It drives very hooligan, but is silent at the same time - I'd rather call it trolling as it doesn't attract much attention when accelerating violently. Using 100% recuperation in the city also means that the brake light will not be on as often whistle

Probably hard to compare but how does the power delivery compare to an ICE bike ?

IE does it feel like a 600 single etc

I really ought to test ride some but last time I looked the prices were too high for my mileage / usage

It is hard to compare. Power delivery is instant and always available in its performance range. Most notable after my first drive was the lack of gear changes.

My FXE is classed 11kW and can be driven with an L3e-A1 licence. It accelerates well until 120km/h, and drags along up to 140; but I'm too powerfully built to get past 136. A spontaneous field test with a mate showed it gets overtaken by a 650 BMW at 110km/h.

The FX* models don't come with a fast charger, so longer tours together with combustion-engined bikes is not an option. It does 100km with the occasional use of its merits; then it needs to be charged, which takes ~9h with the inbuilt charger. Perfect for my 63km-commute though.
