4 riders out for Argentina, a real shame.
Fabio was faster in a straight line than Bagnia in the race, Zarco was fastest of all.
The sheer speed/torque is one clear advantage, the other isn’t an advantage as such, but Fabio/Yamaha need to make lap times using arcing/sweeping lines for higher corner speed. The V4s tend to use V shaped lines and then Fabio loses out on corner exit, so he can’t fight with them.
Mir may have won, but he won one race and was very consistent when others weren’t.

Not watched 2/3 yet so been avoiding commenting. MM93 gives us his best and worst in one weekend, a lot of blame needs to be levelled at the poor standard of the bike, but a lot needs to get levelled at the rider trying to make up too much on the brakes. Really clumsy move, can't help feel poor Oliveira missed a certain podium there, possibly victory.
As great as it is to see Aprillia & KTM doing quite well, we've lost one Japanese factory and they had possibly the best bike of the three! Is it a resource issue? Honda and Yamaha just don't seem to make the progress of the other three now. Looking at three of the Honda riders + Fabio, that's a large proportion of the best talent on the grid riding bikes struggling to make the top 10. As spectators we're missing out.
Good ride from Top Gun, but Pecco needed messed with around half distance, rhythm broken up to avoid getting into his stride. The battle for 4th was pretty damned awesome, great to see Zarco come through.

Tyres, specifically fronts are now playing a huge part in what in what we see.
The teams now run a dorna spec remote tyre pressure sensor, and have very specific pressures they have to run. If they break those pressures, they either crash or get penalised.
Mav, along with others, had front the temp issues when close to Bag, so had to back off, cool the tyre and try again. Everyone he got close, temp and pressures raised again
I believe this issue is affecting far more of what we see and is a spoiling the racing.

This isn't a PH style attack but....how do you know that detail? Just from observing or reading technical articles somewhere? The teams now run a dorna spec remote tyre pressure sensor, and have very specific pressures they have to run. I think it's going to be a problem moving forwards, the sprints will likely settle down a little otherwise the championship will be blown wide open. I do wonder what the knock on will be for costs, even the supply of parts as all of a sudden a lot of things could be getting trashed very quickly?EVOTECH3BELL said:

The front tyre overheating has been widely written/spoken about for 2 or 3 seasons.
“When you’re behind a few bikes for the whole race your front tyre is cooking,” added Binder. “So it’s so hard to stop the bike and feel what’s going on with the front tyre to try and get past people.” - Matt Oxley, Motorsport Magazine 27th March.
Watching Vinales through the race (and he confirmed after) you can see him come out of the slipstream of Bagnia on start/finish. Cooling the front tyre was the reason.

That's why I think 42 races is too many. A sprinkling of double/triple headers would be a good diversion, but every weekend. Too much I think.
You could be right. The GP grid is already very thin, I can't imagine the costs this season are going to draw many more new teams in!EVOTECH3BELL said:

The bikes have tyre temp and prob pressure indicators on the dash now, because if the ruling.

It looked brutal, confirmed broken ankle and I think hes getting scans on his other leg so could get worse for the lad yet...
BUT
He completely switched his attention off after crossing the line and ran into Holgado who was in the middle of the track, yes he had rolled off but youre more than entitled to.
I would argue that just not paying attention like that is more dangerous to other riders than making a mistake. Before anyone says im not a Marc fanboy, i think he often rides on or over his limit and all too often makes a mistake which has big repercussions, but you cant be riding a bike at 100+ mph and just not looking in front of you...

Why on earth he needed to remove a tear off for the in lap, lord knows.
I was expecting some sort of penalty. If he doesn’t get one, tbh, it makes mockery of the penalties for hanging about for a tow, and what happened in Austin 2 year ago.
