Finished the 3rd engine mount, looks good, fits tight, will never know if it improves stability but feels good.

When on the dyno, I noticed the lower part of the chain slapping happily against the swingarm,
so I try to fit an anti-slack device / tensioner which pushed the chain AWAY from the swingarm,
was quite difficult to create / mount but the results might be good :

Between the hidden C-Clamp bracket and the polyurethane slider is a piece of flat spring steel.

Work in progress, finished item will be painted metallic blue.

Hi everyone!

Hope you're all well. That is some top work on your monkey Benni. I like the engine mount. Not too sure on your chain tensioner. It's one of the issues with a longer swing arm. Luckily I only get a slack chain when I am not sitting on the bike. Once sat on and the suspension settles the chain is perfectly tensioned.

Evo 8 is coming. I treated myself to a private plate for the monkey. It's my initials and FUN on the bottom row. It's a little dorky but I like it. biggrin I've ordered up a new better oil cooler to replace the crap quality one I've had for years. Not only does it leak slightly but I don't think it's doing much as on some hot days I can feel the oil getting thin and won't go into neutral smoothly...Also ordered some slim bar end weights and some pitbike-esq foot pegs. My current pegs with the rubber layer are wearing thin and I've always wanted some grippier ones.

I've got ideas on getting the rear air shock filled with nitrogen gas same as they do in the MX/Pitbike world to see if this makes a difference.

Also on this Evo, I'm in talks with someone to Cerakote the Brembo caliper to a better gold and get them rebuilt. I am going to ask about the doing the exhaust but am unsure on the cost or what colour. I also plan on playing with the Nibbi carb and lowering the carb needle. As the bike slightly bogs on initial opening of the throttle. I've ridden around this for years but it's time to have a tune.

This isn't the most intense update as the monkey was already at evo 7.5 last year when we changed the brakes and fixed the swingarm. As ever I am looking towards the future. I still want a proper adjustable USD front set up, but will need to be on 10 inch wheels for that. I've seen how goofy a monkey looks on 8 inch wheels with an USD front...so I might buy some cheap 10 inch wheels to see how much of a visual change it makes.

I'll post pics as and when I can.
