Important update

Warner bros discovery is due to split mid 2026.

Both may be brought by a rival, ( paramount, netflix or even sky)

If it does split TNT sports is staying with Warner bros

Discovery plus and quest are going with Discovery.

Be careful who you pay a subscription to for BSb viewing.
Any fundamental change to what you can access on your package will give you the option to cancel straight away, no matter what length of contract you’re on.

Was that the case when Eurosport disappeared in the UK?

Yes you could cancel the non-existent contract that existed for the free to air Eurosport channel.

Maybe you can see the flaw in your argument.

Looks like Danny Kent has hung his leathers up for now, he is now Stanford Racing's Moto4 team manager

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest, be a shame if it turns out to be a house of cards, Tommy is a top rider and deserves better IF that is the case.

Rumours are just rumours. Also, what sort of rumours? It’s easy to say “a bit dodge” (if not write it), but it could mean anything from the team is struggling to put the finance together, to one of the guys connected to the team has a mixed business success background, through the team owner is a full on criminal and loads of points in between and either side of the examples. Also, I’m sure you could point the finger at most team owners and claim they’re a “bit dodge”, as everyone has a history. Might help if you repeat these rumours so there’s something to discuss, rather than just claiming to be some sort of ITK.

It was only last month that there was a big discussion over how Bridewell was going to steal a march on everyone else due to the competing in the first three rounds of WSBK. If Bridewell has signed for a duff team, then that’s on him. Plenty of time to do your due diligence before committing to anyone.

I make no claim about anything, you did that. I merely pointed out that the entire thing looks a bit weird, some guy from another country comes in and starts throwing money around, just seems a bit odd. And there is previous in BSB for this too,

No I didn’t I gave some whacky wild examples of what these “rumours about this new Ducati team being bit dodge” could be. I don’t know anything, I’m reacting to your claim. My point was to say that you’ve clearly made some allegations, but haven’t backed them up at all. You clearly believe them: “who saw that coming” nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more.

You either have something to say, or you don’t. Stop dancing on the head of a pin and say it. Someone having money and spending it on bike racing isn’t automatically dodgy. There are some very rich people who made all their money legitimately, although probably upset some people along the way. There’s also the flip side of that. Just because someone has money doesn’t automatically make them dodgy though.

Have you just made it all up due to jealousy, or would you like to share these rumours?

You do remember the IFC Ducati team in 2002? Bankrolled or not as it happened by some bloke who pitched he was getting money from American somewhere, was his name Dave Cropley or something. Pulled a similar thing with the semi works Rutter Kawasaki team in 2001 as I recall something called Transatlantic finance or something, was all smoke and mirrors. Team went but Stringer left with big bills!

Remember the Aprilia team that came in in the 2010's loads of money, disappeared without much trace.

This might be all great, but is there any issue with raising concerns, unless of course you have a vested interest.

And? They’re two instances where the model was very dodgy, I suppose you could put the OMG thing in that too, as that’s been iffy in various forms of motorsport. However, what does any of your history lesson have to do with this new Ducati team? Are you close to the finances? Do you know something? Or are you just making stuff up and pretending to know something?

I have no vested interest at all, so you can cut that out. You’re the one giving it large that there are “rumours”. However, you’re hinting the rumours are coming from somewhere, but when pushed, you just make up your own stuff. That tells me there’s no substance at all, you’re just playing at Billy Big Balls, pretending to be in the know. If something bad does happen, I doubt it will be because you knew something that nobody else did. It’ll just be a case of a broken clock being right twice a day.

I missed your reply at the time.

Where in the UK could you get Eurosport free-to-air?

It certainly wasn't free when I had it on Virgin Media and you can't get it on Freeview in my area.

I saw a poster on 'X' saying that the guy behind the funds has sacked the would be team manager and is looking to bring in a team manager who was recently, and suddenly let go from another BSB team last season.

But as far as I understand it was the Jackson Racing team funded by the Superbike Advocates or whatever it was, and the rumour was he's fallen out with the 'Jackson' part.

Again, I have no insider knowledge, this is purely pulled from discussions and comments on X and Facebook, so an artery furring amount of salt required.

I don’t think it was ever free as such in the UK but it was definitely thrown in FOC with Sky basic subscription for years.

Yep. If you had any form of satellite / cable or whatever since its launch then Eurosport was included in every package, no matter how basic. Nobody paid any extra premium, nor had a specific contract with Eurosport, it was just there in your package.

It was most definitely free on Virgin Media. You can’t get it on Freeview, because it doesn’t exist any more.

So it was one of the channels you got if you paid for satellite or cable TV.

If you’re going to claim this as a gotcha then don’t bother. It was free. It came with other paid for channels. You did not have a contract with Eurosport directly. If they wanted to change anything at all about their service they could, because you didn’t have a contract with them.

Just because it came with a separate paid for service, does not make it a paid for service. If they chose to remove it from your paid for service it would not have altered the paid for service’s offering either in terms of breaking their contract.

Enough? Or do you really want to carry on trying to be clever, but failing?

MTV was the same, it was just there, along with dozens of other channels.
