I'd dispute that when you have the likes of Kiyonari, Byrne, Brookes and Ryde who have all won multiple titles in the last 20 years, never mind the likes of Hill, Ray, Glenn Irwin who have been nipping at their heels multiple seasons, Irwin in particular has been runner up at least twice.

Yes Haslam can ride a bike just as well as most, in some cases better than but his days as a race winner and front runner are fading rapidly imho.
Now you’ve done it. The Jack Miller Band will turn their anger on you soon.

Not surprising. They've really struggled to make the Honda work this year. Think they are switching manufacturer next year (Ducati?).

Harv Beltran!!

Well apparently he was in receipt of over 150 grand over payment for some reason, put into another account and failed to declare it, did not spend it though.

This was why he was sacked.

People stupidly wrote Leon off a few years ago. At 43 years old, whilst I wouldn t consider him a title fighter he remains capable of getting wins and podiums.

He is certainly the in the top 5 of British Riders over the last 20 years.

Personally, I wouldn't rate Glen Irwin as in the same league as some of those names. Perhaps he'd be mentioned in the same breath as Hill but I'd put the others above.

In the last 20 years, none of those names came 2nd in the WSBK Championship, nearly winning the title. Leon did in 2010.

What did surprise me R.E Spud is that Shaun Winfields wife commented on Facebook that he was a salaried rider.

Granted he almost was World Champion but that was a long time ago and if you want to value being world champion above British champion, then Sam Lowes, Cal Crutchlow and Chaz Davies were all WorldSSP chanpions so were better at World level whilst the previous mentioned riders all scored more British Championship wins so whilst i agree he can ride a bike to a higher level, i stand by my commewnts that there have been other riders who have better results.

Putting Kiyonari and Brookes in the top 5 of British riders might be a bit of a stretch hehe

Top 5 ever is a good shout.

Regardless of nationality.

Mine would be Mackenzie, Kiyonari, Ryde, Byrne reluctantly and probably Haslam just for durbaility.

Byrne
N. Mackenzie
Reynolds
Hislop
Ryde

Honourable mention to Walker who should really have won at least one championship.

Sorry forgot about John, I would replace Haslam with him for sure, Hizzie, what a weird chap, faster than anyone in the world at times, but could be so easily got to!!

Is this BSB only?

If not, what about McGuinness given the earlier discussion? I’m presuming the Dunlops are excluded based on being Northern Irish, so whilst U.K. citizens they aren’t British. Then there’s the real old school. John Surtees, Phil Read even Barry Sheene.

Yes otherwise it would include Foggy and Hailwood plus those you’ve mentioned and others.

The modern era of BSB so roughly 96 onwards. Fpggy never really fully did BSB from about 91, he was racing internationally and in F1. Whitham is a shout. And Walker will always get a lot of votes as huge was very popular.

Just checking as one of the big justifications for Haslam was that he finished second in WSBK 16 years ago. So that should be discounted

Haslam shouldn't be in anyone top 5 bsb riders anyway laugh

Byrne, Kiyo, Mackenzie, Reynolds and Brookes.
Obvious outrageous talents have come and gone but they can't really feature in an outright top 5.
