Hi,

I installed a power commandor a while back. I've got a bloody warning code up on the dash. The garage had a quick look and quoted the following:-

C46 - EXHAUST CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR

I've had a quick search on the gsxr forum but i dont want to cut any cables etc. Does anyone know how i can fix this fault? I'll be installing a custom exhaust which i've bought off ebay so maybe the fault may go away?

Cheers

Seized up valve...either remove it and fettle with the wiring or use an o2 eliminator (supplied with a PC)when you get that full system on

The warning alarm appeared so i installed the o2 sensor - hasnt made it go away. I didnt explain my self very well! The exhaust will be replacing the standard exhuast/baffle - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUZUKI-GSXR-600-750-k6-k7-K8...

Once i receive the exhaust i'll have a play around with the cables etc

Thanks

Hey fella.
I have the same bike, couple of things I've thought of. When you turn the ignition of can you hear that valve move? It'll squeak at the same time the fuel pump primes...
Also that exhaust won't do away with that valve, I'm thinking about buying one too (keep us/me posted on what it's like). It's the K8 that requires a cut and shut.
If you can't hear the squeak from the valve remove the rear faring and on the right hand side you'll see the control box and the other end of those cables, see if it moves or even tries to. Might be worth checking feed to it? Maybe a fuse has blown causing it not to shut so the o2 sensor read wrong. See how it goes.
If you get really stuck I highly recommend talking to ivan at cjball Suzuki at hales. He really knows his stuff and I'm sure would be able to offer some advice.
Hth,
Tim.

The 02 eliminator wont fix the exhaust valve.

If you look at the exhaust there will be a valve operated by 2 cables. This should open and then close when you turn the ignition on. If it doesn't it has seized. If it does open and close but still reports the error then the cables need re-adjusting.

The valve on my 1000 k7 seizes if it has sat for a while. To fix it I put a spanner on the nut and help it turn (only takes very little pressure) when the ignition is switched on. Turn it in the direction the cable is pulling so you aren't fighting against the motor.

Just checked the valve and when the ignition is switched on i can see it opening and closing so obviously the cables and the motor in the rear compartment are fine.

I still have this bloody F1 error code!! Is there anyway that i cant reset the ecu without cutting any cables or damaging the bike?

Cheers guys

Hi again,

I followed the following link:-

http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1748...

All i did was connect the 2 cables as per the instructions - didnt cut pin/cable 30. Whilst running i had -C00. Then i disconnected the jumper cable and now my F1 light has dissappeared.

I will post pics of my new exhaust once received and installed
