OH MY GOD THIS SUBJECT MAKES ME WANT TO STAB MY OWN EYEBALLS OUT.
Can you video it, and get someone to put it on you tube for you, I need some entertainment after reading all the ste above, actually I didnt read it as any thread with the sharp test in it always goes the same way so I didnt need to

Special note to anyone buying a 30 quid aldi helmet

put it on your head and when you fall off your bike if you wind up dribbling like a spag then you got what you paid for.... enjoy and ride safe
Saying that the S1 pro got 2 Stars. But as said take it with a pinch of salt
I gather you did not look pat

Arrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My comment in relation to Arai's with two/three stars was meant along the lines of that the Aldi/Lidl helmet is no more/less safe because it got poor side impact scores against its own standards - rather than a direct comparison against Arai.

I.e. I am not advocating the sole use of SHARP to select a helmet nor am I Arai bashing smile

In fact my next lid will probably be an Arai biggrin

It seems this subject always causes a lot of opinions one way or another but I wonder what measurement people use to base these on?

good old fashioned word of mouth and experience.

and the race paddock is always a good place to rely on.

nome of the guys in bsb etc get paid to wear lids, but yet the majority wear arai.....i dont see anyone wearing lidld 'pishpot special'

Could also be the fact that everyone else wears one so that becomes the de-facto choice. Much like if you say baked beans to someone, they'd say Heinz, whereas Branston beans are clearly the superior choice.

Not that I'm saying a Lidl lid should be compared to an Arai in that way.

Straight, hoops or alphabetti though? We've not even touched on the likes of Thomas the Tank Engine spaghetti, or the spaghetti that comes with sausages.
