Re the 998 and 999 recall.

Posting this to alert UK owners. I have been appalled and shocked re the above recall incompetent frame work done. Some of the Chrysler UK dealers are screwing the work up! My concern is owners trust work has been done satisfactorily, and this is far from the truth.

A Southampton dealer confidently claims to have done 6 Vipers including a GT2, they ignored the rear (which needs much work on pre 1st March '99 cars, but argued with me it's only a visual inspection! YIKES!) They have put the frame gussets on over the top of the old ones!! They are part riveted (doesn't even look like with the proper rivets) and part welded as they won't fit well with the old ones in place still. I couldn't believe what I've seen. I just had a quick look-see at a few of the cars done when some of us met up over the weekend. Another dealer screwed up on the rear U splicer brackets, and riveted the gussets on the wrong way around facing rearwards! They also claim to have serviced the snake since doing this, how did they get that oil filter out?! The owners are unaware; they have rightly expected it's been done properly. This is criminal.

It's shocking that dealers will do this - especially on a performance car. My warranty invoice from Motorway Sports shows:
Labour - £1047.20
Parts - £323.56 (inc. dealer discount)
I trust the work has been done and feel this reputable dealer would have done the work properly, but its worth a £1000 to other dealers if they botch the work and claim the full amount - which is fixed.
Part of me wants you to take a look under my car Nad, but part of me doesn't!!!
Ignorance is bliss - until you're upsidedown in a ditch! Hope to see you all again soon...

I will not be attending Sunday; any D.Chrysler UK 'big wigs' would be greeted with ear-ache from me if I did. I am peeded-off with lack of D.Chrysler UK support and knowledge for Viper owners over here.

Venom, best of luck with sorting you snake.
