To add to the above.
I also have had bad news, car IVA not due until first week in October, so that is summer done, ordered last May so nothing last summer and nothing this, so poor at setting customer expectations. Was originally told 9-12mths, now it's looking 18mths. Not fussed about 18mths, but could have planned other temporary measures in meantime, poor.

Mind is already wandering to other vehicles, Nomad will do well to stay in the fleet, at least resale looks strong with such slow production / lead times.
That's the point isn't it, all this could be easily avoided with better communication from the factory and more realistic management of expectations.

Still very excited about mine, not looked at anything else either as there is no real comparison(especially if you're going for a more off-road spec).

I'm hoping to have mine in time for Christmas!

Nice to hear from an owner , rather than all us patiently waiting .
What's the car like ?
I guess you didn't wait as long as us ?
Do you come back to it & find small children climbing all over it ?
Has it got any major design flaws ?

Answers to your questions Lightly

1 - It's a brilliant car I'd almost say better than my Atom that I owned before
2-I ordered mine the day after it was launched
3 -No
4-No design faults but I had a clutch master cylinder problem which Ariel Motors sorted out

Well, I have been told that subject to IVA pass I can collect in 4 weeks.

Working back I'd say this'll be built in 2-3 weeks and the final week will be an IVA tick box, 14th is collection date provided all being well. Probably all done and dusted a few days before that but I seem to recall Ariel like Friday as collection day.

I bet you can't wait, shame the weather will likely be rubbish by then.
Make sure you overflow this site with pics if poss smile

There's an argument that, so long as he can access a decent length gravelly road, the weather by then might actually be perfect.

I'm all for sun, but I would think a bit of mud and puddles can add to the fun quotient here...

Yep, stepping out of your Nomad when you get home.

Its coming along nicely now, the last few weeks waiting are going to be the hardest!

Loving the yellow Nomad, it's looking nearly complete now!

More pics, collection as of 19:45 this evening still stands at Friday 14th, not long to go.

White tyre writing question was asked, those on order be prepared for an on the spot decision, in or out? smile

Once it has the matching bonnet and ariel badge, plus spare knobbly of course, it should be looking the part.

When i first ordered the car (way back when) my first question was, are you going to make a limited run Mugen version? They said it was never going to happen, else i'd definitely gone red and white. I should have bought their mugen atom when I had the chance, but that's another story.

The red coilover covers were ordered for protection whilst i source something similar in the coming months, Ariel only sold those so i'll have to ask around a few quad bike shops to see what i can get that's a more suitable colour, black and white possibly.

What else..

Well there is a video here of a Nomad in the states which is pretty cool.

http://www.carbuzz.com/news/2016/9/29/Ariel-Nomad-...

I have spoken to TMI AutoTech and the factory in Crewkerne to see if they can order me what looks like a get-you-home hood shown from the tactical Nomad version in the video, for my purposes it'll be much more useful than the weatherproofing option provided by Ariel currently.

Think that's all the info I have, roll on next Friday!

Did you see this pic Ariel tweeted of the tyres with the white writing on the side walls?

I also liked the cover used in the US video, let me know how you get on sourcing one. Nice red Alcon calipers on this Nomad along with the side panels, both not options when I ordered.

I had an idea what it'd look like with the white writing on the outside of the tyre walls, but preferred inside, besides, due to the lack of body work you can see the writing from your seat, which i think is cooler. smile

From what i can gather, any additional tactical and sport options TMI add to the Nomad in the states you can order for your Nomad, but the ordering has to go through Crewkerne. So I'll be receiving the hood via the factory.

No side panels or red calipers for me, personal preference thing rather than availability / practicality.

Painting the lettering is pretty straight forward and you can do that yourself. There are quite a lot of instructional videos on YouTube. The Americans are fond of it for their '50's cars but don't forget to misspell tyre as 'tire' to find them.

Do you have a shot of the hood on its own? Or is your request founded purely on the egarage video?
