Well just off now to collect the Chimaera with the WMS Brake Up Grade fitted. So a few miles of bedding in to do.

Went for the 283 kit and it looks great sitting beside the car, before it was fitted.

Will post over the next few weeks and months how it feels and the difference it makes to the car on road and track.

To Keri all I can say as a customer is how understanding he is, it took a while of deciding just what to do and what to put on, but we got there.

The WMS Brakes look the business and I am sure will be the business on the Chimaera. I can as being a paying customer say, great service by WMS. I would recommend Keri to anyone to discuss what they want with him.

As for the improvement levels, well that will be over the next few posts, can't judge till I've driven her.

Ive messed Keri about on buying a set for a long time. Always seems accelerating is more important to me than stopping hehe.
Hopefully have the disposable income sometime to take the plunge.

Good pedal feel and nice progressive feel to. Using DS2500 pads all round,

So its basicly going to have the same braking power as the 887 888 calipers but they look better and weigh alot less.

A lot less 2Kgs off each side, so a 4Kgs saving, was planning a good run on Sunday with a couple off laps on track,

Ok 1 week on the best weather we have had in years and brakes now fully bedded in.

Pedal feel gets better as the brakes warm up. On cold there is no difference to normal set up, once the heat comes in they bite firmer more feel and the do reduce braking points

On fast road spirited driving well even more impressive full feel of the car is more confident would say very spirited driving reduction by almost a 3rd on braking points. Stopping distance is greatly reduced.
Balance front to back unchanged, well not felt the back want to do anything strange.

Need to get her on track now to see the difference there.

Am I happy, Very HAPPY

Next feedback will be on track report but the WMS brakes are very good.

Ok been on track did a few laps so not a full report on what really possible.

Really really impressive braking, far more speed into the braking points with confidence that she will slow for the corners, braking points greatly reduced, pedal feel excellent, no fading but not on that long either.

Balance is perfect too, now just only one fault, its not the brakes, its me. I need to do a full day on track LOL not just a 15 minute tester LOL.

WMS brakes rock

One very happy customer

Thanks Keri, great product

I went the HiSpec route, this picture is 4 years ago, since then I've had Redstuff, Yellow, Mintex and now settled on Ferodo DS2500s. These are good but in hindsight I wish I'd have gone for the 300mm disks. On the track, still just not enough positive bite. Like power, there's never enough

i have just fitted the 300mm WMS brakes to my 500 - great brakes but I have discovered that the Estoril wheels are not quite round on the inside which has meant a bit of fettling and moving the balance weights. Is anything ever straigtforward on a TVR?

How much is the 283mm and 300mm kits and can my braided hoses and pads be re used..?or are they a special pad..

Are the calipers the same on both kits ?

I'm running 15s on the front and the clearance is really tight, the callipers are the same I believe as for the 283 discs but the existing hoses do not fit - I had to get replacement hoses as the WMS callipers are of course US items and the US don't do metric.

We don't do a 300mm WMS kit quite yet so I'm a bit confused! Will do soon though.
