Oh, and I have on piece left over. Approximately 6x8 rectangle, bound on two edges. No idea what its for!

Is it the bit that glues round all the electric loom & heater pipes under the dash. - I cable tied mine, having seen all the glue from the original fit.

Dave

On the passenger side..? You've just reminded me actually. In my car there was a separate bit of carpet over thes heater pipes (above passenger Right foot) about 12"-14" long and maybe 8"-10" wide, either way, it was that firmly in place and in good enough condition that I left it there. The coverdale kit had a slightly bigger Passenger side tunnel panel in this area than the original i think and this would have covered up the pipes etc itself.

so in fact that would mean that my kit was one piece short..? I'll take some photos to try and explain better tomorrow..

Just some pictures to show some of the work needed:

Old carpet.. thats what royal blue can do in the sun !

Out with the seats and floor mats:

Remove centre console, thats the alarm sensor box that people talk of:

This is the bit to keep an eye on, note how the side pieces are under the long strip, which in turn goes under the rear panel.

So this is what comes out in total (it helped to lay it out like this so you can visualise where it all goes back):

A quick check that all the bits of new carpet corresponded to somewhere in the car (note the roof is off, as this needs to be removed to take out and re-fit the upper side panels and the rear section)

same again from the rear:

the tricky drivers side inner panel in place, followed by the outer two (the small "extra" bit (not shown) covers up the flexi pipe seen behind the dashboard lighting button):

Passenger side.. note that front outer panel is a lot bigger than it really needs to be as it comes across the floor a way.

About half way through:

Underfelt applied over the top of TVRs soundproofing to the whole rear parcelshelf area (holes have been cut through for the rollbar mounts):

Floormats in place:

And finally the parcelshelf is complete:

Jobs left from here.. re-rivet the velcro either side, re-fit the roof, re-fit the seats, battery box and steering wheel (oh and clean the car ).

Job done

I don't know why I didn't think of removing the steering wheel!

Coverdale will supply carpet only if required.
I purchased mine from them about a year ago and had a local trimmer make up just the sections I needed.
All worked rather well IMHO.

..no wonder you struggled with that large transmission tunnel panel.

I just have to add a bit of a puff for Coverdales, again!

I fitted my carpets, but ran out of time to strip the doors to fit the new carpet panels. Two weeks later I came to do the doors, stripped them (nasty job which could have been worse had I continued looking for the fabled fourth nut - there were only 3!), and came to cut the carpet. No carpet.

I had ordered 2 pieces for the doors, and they were delivered ok with the rest of the set. Where were they? Well, in the intervening two weeks some other stuff had gone missing - in particular a very large and heavy cast iron bench. The carpet was sat in full view on my workshop top next to the open window, so maybe the garden thieves were in need of some padding.

Anyways, I phoned Coverdales to see if I could get some more. My heart sank when they said they might not have any of that colour left, but they said they'd look and get back to me. A few hours later sure enough they rang back. They'd found some offcuts and would post them on. Result! How much?

NO CHARGE!

Not even postage!!!

Credit where credits due - that's what I call customer service. Top outfit!

Bought replacemet set of carpets from Coverdale Carpets several years ago for a Rover P6. Very pleased with them and fitted pretty well.
