Trying to find out if my 430 is an early one or not. It was registered in July 1993. How many more before this date.

This is getting interesting. I knew they were a bit rarer than the 4.0 but it seems there may be fewer left than i first thought and as a new TVR owner this is a bonus. Has anyone ever tried getting a full list together.

Here's the reg plates of the ones I've seen online or for sale in last two years:
L831 GYK,
L247 VLE,
K282 BOH ,
K500 RSL,
B986 TVR for sale Tony Gilberts still, he's had it at for more than six months now,
L95 WLN,
G19 TVR,
XMA 863 in Belgium I think,
K14 MRA,
L85 WRT, and I have pictures of seven others without plate details.
I dare say some of you on this post may own one of the above.
Just to explain, I kept records of the above while I was Looking for mine, including mileage and prices so I didn't get ripped off.

The first production 4.3 was a Starmist Green car, ordered at the end of 1992 by Newtown Motors as their demo car.
The chassis number for this Chimaera ends 1131, so as far as other 4.3's are concerned ,the nearer to this build number, the earlier the car.
HTH

  • ETA The early cars in build were both 4.0 and 4.3, so the build numbers between 1131 and other 4.3's include any 4.0's built as well. Hope im making sense biggrin.

Colin ,did you keep the lexus lights, I know a lot of people don't like em, personally I do and have them on mine. I think they suit it better than LEDs. They may be the cheaper alternative, but whats wrong with saving 250 quid, more money for fuel biglaugh

That's odd as mine was registered Apr 94 and it's number is 116x, some 30 odd higher. So chassis's may not have been dished out in order of manufacture, with some sitting around for a while scratchchin
