just trial fitting new plenum. Is a used one so just checking all the fittings etc.

The cork gasket was bonded to the base plate, so will order a new on from ACT

All fits, just a few bit and bobs to do before the final fit;
Longer throttle cable
Fit stepper housing
New TPS plug to wire up
New bracket to secure PS fluid reservoir
Should look good once everything is cleaned up.

It’s my Chimaera’s 18th birthday today.

Now Niggles is allowed in the pub, I will have to find one with a wide enough doorway, or an all-year beer garden, and get down there to celebrate..

And change the door lock solenoid.

Oh, and it’s also my wife’s birthday ........ whistle
Congratulations allround. thumbup

What have I done in the garage today? Absolutely feck all madfuriousragecursebanghead

Car was damaged on the 12th September. Taken to RT Racing on the 9th October. Authorisation for repairs on 1st November. Estimated completion was 17th November said the insurance company.

No communication from the repairer so called today. Maybe next week - waiting for the windscreen.

Seems the 2 TVR repairers I chose don't put customer contact as important. Ist choice was S&D who were absolutely woeful. For me its not just about the quality of the finish, its the whole package. If you can't be arsed to keep the customer informed then don't expect a recommendation.

10 weeks of cold turkey...........tumbleweed

A therapist would say, “how does that make you feel “?

I will just say, “what a bummer “!

And I can't get on with my SD1 project as the driveway is being done and the slack team doing it arrive late, brekkie after an hour, a very good hour for din-dins and finish by 2.30 so its taking an age.

But every cloud has a silver lining: on their way to brekkie this morning they crashed into an artic the dozy gits (no one injured).

Took the headlight reflectors and lenses out that I fitted last week and re fitted them properly, apparently I had them slightly off, I should have looked at the bulb when I fitted fitted them, still better to find out now rather than at mot time.

Stared at Beastie for a while... went back indoors and had a coffee. Went back in the garage and stared at Beastie again. For about 10 minutes. Started drafting the body off schedule. Then went back indoors and had another coffee. Went back out to the garage and gave some thought to the heating. Decided it was really cold in the garage and went back indoors. Had another coffee. Went back to the garage and gave some thought to the lighting. Realised half the tubes weren’t working so made note to self to get new tubes. And a heater. Went back indoors. Got washing out of machine and put on clothes horse in dining room. Thought about going back to garage but lack of decent light and near sub zero temperatures put me off. Thought about having another coffee. Watched qualifying then rugby. Thought about the garage but already starting to get dark.

Might go out to the garage again tomorrow.

Chilli.

Took new smart charger from Ring out of the box.
Stared at it.
Heeded words from Autospares bloke to read the instructions.
Read the instructions.
Was no wiser.
Connected new charger to wife’s car battery.
Couldn’t work out what was happening.
Peeled label off the display on the front.
Worked out that the battery was 70% charged and that the smart charger was de-sulphating the battery.
Went back inside - too bloody cold for staring at battery chargers outside.
Went outside again at 11pm to find battery charged.
Switched battery charger to next car and went to bed.

You guys!

Went for a drive in the ML yesterday, came back and parked it on one side of the double garage.
Went inside, made a cup of tea and returned half an hour later.
The garage must’ve been up to 75°F at least from the dissipating heat from the ML.
That gave me at least a couple of hours in the garage to sort out my bench and rearrange things while keeping nice and toasty.

It’s going well then. There’s a young mechanic near me, he was on the roadside changing an alternator in the dark for a friend last night, then first thing this morning about 8.30am he’s out there fixing his own car with ice everywhere, and you have a garage.
Youth is a great thing biggrin

Under my son's 550 Mustang this morning fitting a Steeda K Brace at 8.30 am little frosty!
He wanted an early start so he could go to the Gym.
Sun came round and started to thaw the ice on it so dripped cold water on me to add insult to injury.
Already fitted the strut tower brace oil catch tank and alloy header tank.
New Gt deck lid and boot spoiler fitted and Gt350 steering wheel and start button.
May get chance to do some bits to the Chim not bad at 71 years young! smile

New front droplinks fitted. Found bolts on one lower ball joint a bit loose... Hopefully this will have sorted the knock I was getting on full lock occasionally. Too much snow & ice on the roads to test so checked chassis and cleaned out outriggers.
