Just a little mention make sure those flash water pump pulley bolts are short enough to clear the water pump webs behind as they protrude through the drive flange

3 1/2 years ago I acquired some burgundy Elise seats and fitted them temporarily to my chim as the originals were so awful.

Temporary turned to semi-permanent unfortunately!

I then acquired a pair of cloth covered Elise seats for next to nothing and gave them to the very talented Mr Zigazagga

He has trimmed them in blue and Magnolia leather to match the interior of my car complete with a carbon effect cloth to cover the bare rear of the seats. They look bloody fantastic.

I have placed them on top of my existing seats just to show the effect. This and a few other mods are part of my list of winter things to do to the car. I will fit them on a pair of sliding runners that I have.

Over the moon with the results.

Very nice Peter.

So the vibration problem has been worse and had a look at the manifold clearance. Touching on the driver's side so bought some spacers from Powers.

The damage to the offside:

The original offside spacer was fitted which I found after removing the mountings. Anyway fitted the Powers spacers on both sides and lowered it down. The gaps were a huge improvement, I could get my fingers in the gap.

All sorted or so I thought. Bolting the turbo back to the Y piece, the actuator was hitting the top front chassis rail. So removed the nearside spacer and replaced it with the original from the offside as its a little thinner. This caused the engine to sit more evenly and still a good gap at the rails but the actuator was still a problem. Nothing for it but to remove the Y piece and turbo completely to get access to the top rail. rolleyes
This will be modified over the next few days. wink

Very cool, very very cool.

I’m going to try and do my seats when I feel brave enough, just re colour them. I’m even going to keep the stitching blue somehow!

This is the real reason for Tvr and why they are so important.

As an owner you can just drive it and or you can shape it to what you want.

If you own one long enough or can spend heavily fast,, they can go from road to race to road to sports car depending on what you want to do.
I started out wanting a race car then after more road milage have gone back to sports mode, just a few changes really, shocks and tyres and leaving the cam and induction alone, so far I’m much happier with the softer car as that’s what my life dictates as in regular use.

Trouble is everytime I see this car I kinda want a racecar again biggrin

Maybe a few more years down the line I might enjoy making it really really fast and in this case pretty too thumbup

Don’t let the Magnolia fool you people,,, I hope you’ll offer Zig a ride Peter.
Merry Christmas smile

Did you do all this on axle stands!

What a game at this time of year.

I was wandering through Halfords the other week and noticed a pack of floor mats for a tenner so picked one up.
Foam based stuff with a checker plate finish on one side and clips together like a jigsaw to make a large enough area to fit under the car, I’ve just used two of them to save my knees recently when changing to concentric wheel spacers and they are sound when using on concrete floors. Better than carpet, easily washed off if oil spilt and stop your tools rolling away hehe

Warm up too via a bit of bodyheat. wink

If you don’t have the luxury of a lift stuff like this makes a big difference when scrabbling underneath.

Glad I got it now as it looked a joke in the pack!

You mean this stuff Alun? http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/garage-equi...

It's not bad and I use something similar bt in a "mechanics Mat" one piece thing that my missus bought for me for tenner at a show went to. alos have a second one that was scrounged from Snap-on's waste skip by a mate as it was damaged and unsaleable.

Saves the knees and creaky joints for us oldies eh Al?
