I left the fuel line disconnected when I removed my rocker covers - went into the garage the next morning to a strong smell of fuel, and I'm pretty sure it has been dripping into the engine.
Sump level seems a bit higher and there is definitely a whiff of petrol to the dipstick.
Just a case of doing an oil change before starting it up? I was planning one soon anyway.

Oil & filter without lifting the car
I didn't think I'd be able to do it but I fancied the challenge. The car currently has no steering wheel as it's with Lee at Trim Unique getting a new skin so moving the car out of the garage was not possible.
Filter removal and replacement from the top was a pig but it's done and very little mess. Oil drawn out using a Pela Oil Vacuum Extractor that I use for my Smart Roadster Brabus daily driver.
Spark plugs tomorrow

Smart Roadster Brabus! Pocket rocket.
A client of mine was loaned a Renault 5 GT Turbo when his Alpine A610 was in for service. I asked him how he found it. “It'll be great when I get the one for the other foot” he said.
Clever little car the 5 GT a customer of mine used a series 2 I fitted his supplied parts back in the 90's that was running 12's and used daily stock motor bottom end and cyl head 1400 push-rod low tech thing he run that engine for years it never broke either, lots of boost the usual exhaust/inter-cooler/and larger carb and cock pit bleed valve A client of mine was loaned a Renault 5 GT Turbo when his Alpine A610 was in for service. In the end I lifted the car as high as possible supporting the shell with extra tall lorry axle stands, I then dropped the whole engine & trans on its subframe using a pallet and a forklift.
I worked on the whole engine/trans/subframe assembly out of the car on a stack of pallets, even like this access was a complete nightmare
Never again
