What did you do in the garage yesterday?
Discussion
I only showed up to eat properly
Butties and the bread, lovely indeed.
Compliments to the Chef and cake maker alike.
So busy we didn’t even get a game of table tennis.
Defo need two days to get things done!
So it’s all good then Peter, tight as a drum. Acceleration should be better with less wheel spin I find.
I think this is the best repair pound for pound
It’s brand new which is nice, makes a big difference to the manners and gives the car some decorum.
Removes all sorts of gremlins.
I blasted 120 odd miles back home at a steady 80/90 on the motorway mostly and gear lever stays cool when it used to get and stay hot. I like the fact my gearbox is a lot happier with less snatch since replacing my Dif.
About a year now and it’s loosened up but still really good.
Very happy with it.

Only took one rubbish photo.
I took three looks at that photo before realising that your 80 something neighbour, staring at the cars with interest........is actually me Shirley I don’t look that old! Nice one of my car, which, at 19, shares my mental age.
Is this photo before or after the crash?
Oops, I wasn’t going to mention that.....

quick question - just putting the finishing touches to a suspension refresh, the upper rear wishbones didn't have thrust washers, I ordered new ones on the basis that I think they should be installed - the bush closest to the rear (tank/boot side) fits the thrust washers fine but the one pointing forward doesn't fit over the middle, its not even close, I would have to file a good part of it out.
from the picture below it looks like you have two types fitted?
so I am now confused if they need fitted or not?

That bolt holds the top shock absorber too. It is shared and is a different size (1/2") instead of all the other wishbone bolts (7/16"). So the thrust would not fit.
On my car, only the front wishbones had any fitted. Several contributors on here reckoned they don't do much.

You don't mention if you are using poly bushes or OEM Metalastic bushes. The poly bushes I have fitted come with all the spacers required and as has already been mentioned the forward ones are a larger bolt size. Most of the kits for the smaller size come with white (thick) and Black (thin) spacers and you should fit as many of each as you can get in the gap.

if I file out the centre of the thrust washer I can make them fit both bushes - just a bummer the car is away for an MOT and suspension alignment today so if I install them assume after I just need to be careful not to change the alignment
Brake fluid level warning light was staying on. Disconnect the plug and it goes off - obviously So have a wee peek and the terminals are badly corroded. No amount of scraping or buffing using wet and dry made any difference So ordered a second hand one from a Ford Ka (£9.95 delivered next day) and plopped it in. Still the same
So cut off the original plug, fitted a couple of speaker size spade terminals and refitted. Hmmm....still the same
So taking the yellow part off (easily lifts off btw) the wires on the Ka sensor are located differently. Instead of using the middle terminal like TVR did, the Ka uses the outer ones. Quick swap and job's a good 'un

Not so much as what did you do in the garage..............................more like what i did to the garage.........................................especially the floor.
Floor was sealed and painted about 10 years ago, and the paint was starting to lift in places.
Resealed the exposed bits of concrete with HAR Concrete primer/sealer and painted with 3 coats of 2 pack International epoxy paint.
