I thought they were like Beetlejuice... but they havn't appeared yet!

Anyone know where i can get a cheap pair of original Rear Bilstein Dampers. Want to keep her original if possible, and simply replace a saggy rear end with original equipment... Any help out there?

Saggy rear end sounds like new springs needed.

There is an ex-TVR suspension guy on eBay that sells all the original springs and dampers but in the latest generation. I wouldn't call him cheap though - there is no such thing as cheap Bilsteins.

I had all of mine renewed with original Bilsteins and Eibach springs in 2012 and I love the smooth ride and it doesn't disgrace itself handling wise.

If the ebay guy is Blackdown, he will also arrange to recon your existing units which is a bit cheaper than new.

Blackdown is Ben Lang ... ex TVR suspension designer/developer ... one of the good guys.

Same here, really impressed with my new Bilsteins, Great on the road and surprisingly good on the track too.

Replaced the original shocks and springs on my Griff last year with Bilstein/Eibach replacements from Ben too. Better than aftermarket options IMHO.

Old topic I know but.... I am about to buy new suspension to replace my leaky OEM/AVO combo.
I thought Iwould go for the Ben Lang Bilsteins but my budget seems to be a little short for those so that I started to search for the factory Bilsteins.
Are they available or just this Tuscan S (Ben Lang) setup what is currently on the market?
I want Bilstein, other aftermarket stuff is not the thing I am interested in.

Thanks for your thoughts in advance:-)

Ben Lang does OEM and the sportier Tuscan setup. There isn’t a lot of difference in price though. Both are a lot cheaper than from the TVR specialists.

This is the only one I see on Ebay. and the rear of course.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TVR-Griffith-Chimaera-B...

Is this the Tuscan S version tuned for Chimaera/Griffith or this is the slightly cheaper one only for Chim/Griff?

That’s the standard front shock absorber. You are best off calling or emailing him rather than dealing through eBay. Price will be better too.

You will need to confirm this with him, but the sports setup was just under £1k with all springs, dampers and bushes assembled and delivered. The OEM setup was under £900.

Hi,

Why not contact Bilstein UK (Leicester) and get them refurbished - must be the cheapest option. Then by a pair of new Eibach Rear Springs.

Bill.

Nice, going to get some myself, just saving up at the moment. Which set did you have? and how many tvr tokens did it take!
