Are you talking about turns from lock to lock Daz?

If so, that isn't true if the correct rack has been fitted.

Yes it's slightly slower and it feels good .

I think mat said its half a turn more lock to lock.

I can drive down a very bumpy road st speed and it stays in a straight line .

Are we certain that the 14mm connection on the Suburu rack is the HP pump supply and the 16mm LP reservoir return?

If so I'll run the original hoses down to the hydraulics place and get the new ones made up asap.

TVR rack is almost out, poorly child has stopped play so no more fiddling until the weekend unfortunately. I badly need a home with its own garage!

Damn right you do.

Our last house was absolutely lovely but had the tiniest garage so we had to move.

Quite happy now wink

If I remember right the return hose is larger because it’s low pressure.

Good, that's exactly how I'd expect it to be, thanks!

There are a couple of parts I am haveing real trouble sourcing, and I wonder if anyone can help me out. The bits in question are the two flat plates that secure the power steering pump into the ali casting that bolts onto the block, one plate is on the front and has about six holes in it, and there is another one ot the rear with 4 bolt holes. I have tried all the usual TVR suppliers and some LR suppliers but no one seems to have such a thing. If any one has anything like this they are up for selling please let me know. Or alternatively if I could get a tracing and thickness of the plates I would be able to get them made up.
Many thanks Kev.
I bought part no. ERR4427 for the front mounting plate. The rear plate came with the pump but I believe the part no. is ERR4054.
They were supplied by my local Land Rover dealer. He will need to know what engine the parts are for so he can get the correct book out and I believe the parts are under 3.9 V8 engine.

Hope the above is of help.

Just found these that I had forgotten that I had taken!

Peter can you recall where you got the adaptors for the rack?

Need to get some before I go off to Pirtek

I ordered some from the states as Pirtek couldn't help.
Fit the rack well, no good for the vauxhall pump though.
Part numbers are back on page 11 I believe.

$50 for 2 adapters, the shipping is nearly $30 itself.

Hydraulics firms had better be good. I'll find out on saturday when I take mine in.

If you mean the fittings that screw into the rack then from Pirtek

I took the rack to Pirtek and they sized them.

I took the rack and the pump to Pirtek after measuring the length of lines required.

Back home in less than two hours and carried on fitting system.

I didn't have any knowledge of what I wanted or needed. They sorted everything out and charged accordingly.

Happy person. smile

for the adaptors into the Imprezza rack I used a company called JLS Motorsport 0121 525 5800, their website has all sorts of useful fittings. The part Nos are 791415 this is for the M14 adaptor (high presssure feed from pump) & 791615 for the M16 adaptor which is the low pressure return. The standard retun pipe has quite a large bore size of 1/2 inch, and the pipe is a push fit with Jubilee clip, so you will need some kind of adaptor to fit the hose to the 791615 adaptor

Can anyone help and tell me the thread size for the banjo bolt that connects to the HP hose to the pump. I did buy a pump off of Ebay a few months ago, it is unbranded but allegedly for a TVR! It looks about right but the threaded hole for the banjo is too big, the banjo I have is about a 13mm thread and the thread in the pump is about 16mm dia.
I have had a look on Ebay for another pump and there are some ZF ones available but I am worried that I will pick one up with the same large thread, is there some kind of adaptor available, grateful for any advice on this or if anyone has a pump they want to sell please let me know.
Many thanks Kev.
