As if TVR had a definative specification. They probably fitted one before lunch, then forgot to fit the other.

Generally only one, on drivers side (as standard). Can be added to if required but I'd suggest taking care to maintain alignment.

Interestingly I removed my spacer on the drivers side to help bonnet clearance but now have a slight grating noise under acceleration! I wonder what is catching?! Everything looks clear! Any ideas?

Make sure the power steering pump pulley isn't rubbing on the swirl pot under hard acceleration. Normally one spacer on drivers side to line everything up properly.

If the spacer is left off then the exhaust manifold runs very close to the top chassis rail and sometimes touches and gives a vibration through the car.

And under acceleration the torque might just be enough to make it touch when stationary it will look ok.

Ended up fitting one each side to keep the manifolds clear of the chassis rails. Available from Powers.

I can confirm that without the spacer on the drivers side the exhaust manifold will just catch on the chassis rail. With the spacer fitted it’s well clear, about 10mm! I could do with a slightly thinner spacer to help the bonnet clear the plenum. It’s all so close!

I noticed there is only about 3mm inbetween the chassis brace and the underside of the Y junction on my ATC system.

To be fair to ACT there was exactly the same under the standard Y piece.

I have made up a thinner ally shim and will fit that.

Interesting, mine is more like 10mm which might explain why the plenum with its additional space now just catches the bonnet.
