Yes it will need a bit of tidying to the GRP, but I have the kit to do that.
Just want to concentrate on getting it mobile.

Bad and Good news

Well first the bad, I've given up on the Chimaera project and will be offering it for sale unfinished, quite simply I'm missing a runner and not getting any younger.

Yesterday I bought a Griffith ready to use, not sure if buying on All Fools Day is good news but time will tell.

Thanks to all in the past that have helped me with the Chim'.

Cheers
Lance

I've now put the Chimaera on PistonHeads classified.

What’s been done
Chassis and suspension arms
Shot Blasted, repaired and Zinga ‘spray on’ Galvanising spray followed by a Tie coat primer and two coats of black epoxy paint (Make unsure – Rustoleum?)
New discs and wheel bearings.

Painted serviceable dampers and springs. (were replaced just before strip down)
Steering
Column repainted and fitted. Power steering reconditioned, fitted but not been bled. Steering column joints replaced.

Reconditioned callipers with new pads and stainless steel lined hoses.
Pedal Box
Repainted and refitted. Hydraulic master cylinders fitted with new seals and installed with pipes to tunnel manifold block. Servo repainted and fitted.
Brake and Clutch lines not connected to manifold block, chassis side, flexible pipes were to be used but not purchased. Chassis hydraulic lines replaced. Throttle cable included and only connected to engine at present.
Engine
Painted red with correct paint.
Lined bored crankshaft journals. Reground crankshaft with bearings for big ends and mains.
Stealth camshaft. New hydraulic lifters. New Camshaft bearings (line bored). ‘Real-Steel’ adjustable pushrods. New rocker shafts and new steel rockers.
Reconditioned and skimmed heads. Helicoiled exhaust manifold fixing.
Bores honed.
Pocketed pistons with new rings and connecting rods.
Vernier timing gears and duplex chain.
ARP head studs. ARP crank cap bolts.
Engine run in chassis while still using 14CUX, to bed in camshaft and still has break-in oil in sump. Mechanical oil pressure gauge fixed to engine and when spun over without plugs in place shows 30psi.
Exhaust
Pre-cats removed from manifold section. ARP bolts with nordloc washers. Wide band lambda sensor in boss located near first joint in straight section of pipe. Painted with hi-temp paint but not burnt on and refitted fitted to car.

Radiator and hoses in place with silicone hoses and filled with fresh coolant.
Fuel
Tank refitted and new fuel lines in place with correct pipe clips, tested by powering the pump, no leaks and fuel returns to the tank.
Electrics
Heavy duty cable for starting run to boot area and existing earth points now linked like a household ring main.
Fuses etc no longer in pass’ footwell. Battery to be obtained and fitted in boot..
Dashboard facia now resembles an early Griff but with 7” lilliput monitor!!!! Gauges repositioned. Original gauge and radio panels with car.
Misc’
Stainless fixing pack used throughout rebuild.
Body
Headlights converted to T350c but not finished, have lenses and lamps.
Bonnet has one hole for a pair of Aero catches instead of original cable, have pull cable etc.
Doors dismantled and will need new mirror mounts glassed in or different mirrors fitted. All OE parts, glass etc I have including broken Citroen mirrors.
Interior carpeting removed but retained for DIY replacement patterns.
Dashboard modified, lower knee section will need replacing or live with the modified one.
Targa panel has seals removed together with fabric, because PO was converting car to hard top, I have the seals.
Roll hoop will want new window and fabric, collar section I have.
There are two seats.
The boot has one piece of carpet missing and the remainder I have part re-glued back in before installing the fuel tank The carbon canister recovery system has been removed. A battery will be needed and was intended to be mounted in the boot where the uprated positive and negative cables have been installed.
General
The V5c is in my name.
No registration plates, PO transferred the cherished number.
Folder of receipts for parts etc
Needs to be seen to be appreciated. It's off the ground easy to inspect.
Will need to trailered away.
Would make an ideal Track or Race car or just finish it off.

Cheers

Lewis,
Here is the link, let me know if it doesn't work as I've not had any replies.
Probably worth more as parts so I'm told, but I'm not going to break it.

Part of the deal with the wife was that Chim has to go so she can have here space back in the garage.

She’s a hard woman!

I usually leave a space in a garage for my wife’s car but inevitably it gets left on the driveway.................
