I am replacing all the rubber fuel hoses in my Feb 92 4.0 and it's a horrible job, not only for access but righting some previous wrongs.
I got the fuel tank out without too much hassle. The 2" hose from the tank to the weird U shaped reducer that contains the internal filter needs to be replaced. Hoping a local motor factor can supply that. Now, that U shaped reducer appears to be sized to accept a 5/8" (16mm) hose which passes through the rear bulkhead and goes to the fuel pump inlet. Now, the pump inlet appears to be sized for 7/16" (11mm). My car does not have the brass S or U shaped tube that routes the hose over the rear wishbone. Is this hose size change correct? The pump outlet and through the filter seems to be a 5/16" hose size, but it's tight onto the copper fuel supply line down the chassis.
I couldn't get the filter hoses to route without kinking in the original direction so I flipped the filter around. Much better now.
Have I assessed this all right?
