Cam Replacement Suggestions

Hi all
I've been stripping down the engine on my 400 HC and I belive the cam is pretty worn. The two lobes I've had chance to measure are showing 6mm and 8mm lift and I'm led to believe this is not good?
What's a good replacement cam in this situation? Not looking for anything particularly stellar but whatever might be ideal with the car in pieces.

No expert by any means but I've heard many good things said about the stealth cam. One would assume being a HC it would suit your car nicely!

Another alternative which is a very good camshaft is the Real Steel Typhoon cam.
This can be used with the standard non-pocketed pistons .
Ideally tie it in with a 72 mm plenum.
This ^ or the Stealth I wouldn't bother with the bigger 72mm butterfly on a stock 4.0 it wont use it without further mods which would be a CR hike and decent cylinder heads for example This can be used with the standard non-pocketed pistons .

(It's an H404) That's the cam that I have Daz it's one of Rob's 'special' grinds... That and the ACT triple is why beastie is so much quicker than that old thing you potter about in

Firstly, do those readings point to a new cam?
And besides the V8D cams, where do you actually look to get the others? Like I say, not looking for anything radical just whatever is worthwhile with the engine apart. I
I presume I'd need to change lifters, timing chain and all gaskets too?

I have a 4.0HC and went with the V8D Stealth some 6 years ago.

I still love it, the Stealth gives great drivability but really comes on from 3k and gets better from there all the way to 6k.
Mine has clearly lasted really well as its still gives the same results as it did on day one, Lloyd Specialist Developments visually inspected the lobes from below when I asked them to reseal my sump last year and said they looked completely unworn.
My Stealth cam kit came in a Piper box, Rob at V8D partnered it with quality followers and a JP timing set from Australia that comes with true roller chain & proper induction hardened sprockets.
All in all and after six years & thousands of miles I simply cant fault the Stealth cam & JP timing set.

Stuck a Range Rover cam in my current engine......not suggesting the OP does.
I had a stealth cam with my 5 litre engine, it gave me a really good level of torque over a very wide rev range. No idea if this would help a 4 litre.
First question, what driving are you intending?
General B road etc on a Sunday,
commuting,
long distance touring,
track days?
Second question, what is your driving style/ other car(S). I found the wide torque range great because I am slightly lazy with gear changes and tend to drive larger engined, diesel automatics. But I also enjoy a track day or 20, and the stealth cam on a 5 litre engine made for a great track day car.
