Next race meet maybe - 22/23 July @ Shakey
Discussion
The ambient temps over Shakey especially Saturday don't look good for drying the track in between rain showers
But does look good for fast engines.
Going by the forecast it looks like high chance of rain on Saturday but drying or breaks in the cloud and clearing by evening. Sunday looks promising. Raining here an hr ago in Warwickshire but has dried up pretty quickly since.
Best to check tomorrow evening for an update as now the suns out its lovely and warm and drying fast

Well it's been raining non stop here today, and forecast for more tomorrow. I'll check again in the morning, but based on the forecast I don't think I really fancy the 400 odd mile drive from Aberdeen tomorrow. So I'll probably be invoking excuse No. 2 and leaving the car in Scotland!
Very frustrating as I've done a lot on the car this week, including fitting new coil packs, plugs, leads and most importantly A new Clive Y piece.
Still hope to come along for a bit on Saturday, hopefully to catch up with some of you and see what the 1/4 mile is all about. Might even try it in the golf if thats allowed? Haven't tried launch control in it yet.

You sorted that miss problem you had Nick.
Think so, didn't have chance to test on the road yesterday, but seems fine at idle in the garage, and sounds great with the Clive Y and ACT cherry bomb exhaust, although the neighbours might not agree.Driving down to Nottingham this afternoon, so will try a test drive this morning on the way to work and make a decision on the weather at lunch time.
Sorry to be Captain Obvious here, but Today's forecast for Shakey is heavy rain from lunchtime to midnight. Yes, we have a dry forecast for Saturday morning, but how long will it take for Friday's rain to dry off the strip? Just long enough for the forecast heavy showers to arrive Saturday afternoon?
With the prospect of a soggy campsite, and having already lost two working days this week with my dislocating daughter, I am going to bail out of this weekend and re-convene at the Pod on 19th August. Much as I love you guys, the prospect of sitting staring at a wet strip for the entire weekend, thinking of all the work piled up on my desk at home, is too much for me.

Yes Angus you can use the Golf. Run What You Brung is the idea so usually plenty of road cars there. Very frustrating as I've done a lot on the car this week, including fitting new coil packs, plugs, leads and most importantly A new Clive Y piece.

Probably a prudent decision especially if you have work piled up. Feel for your daughter mate, my brother suffered with a dis locating shoulder for sometime and it wasn't much fun for him. British weather is a PITA
It's dry here in Warwickshire at the moment and it hasn't rained properly in months so I'm sure it will be a few showers regardless of pessimistic Met forcasts.
Shakey has a track blower so drying the track shouldn't take long at this time of year.
Pitch your tent on the trailer Qbee :Hehe:
have a good weekend anyway budd.
Deep in contemplation at the moment.
It is a 260 mile round trip for me and if that is for a couple of hours of TrackTime on Saturday morning it is a great disappointment.
It may be prudent to postpone this till 19 August at Santa pod.
This would've been a fantastic weekend, weather permitting.
Really pissed off!
