Just picked up my car from storage to get ready for MOT (this Tuesday). All good bar the window washers aren't working . Pump running but now water to be seen ( and yes there is water in the bottle) not even any sign of water on the floor. Tried to follow the pipework and it looks like it goes behind the dash ( with all the electrics this can't be right ) . Can anyone shed any light on this for me ?
cheers
Steve

It's awkward to get to but first things first, locate the fault. You need to split the pipe at the washer fluid reservoir and then try the pump. If nothing comes out of the pump then it's pump or reservoir blockage. If you get water then it's the pipework. That is particularly difficult to access so I would suggest trying to back flush it from the jets while it's disconnected to remove the blockage

pump is working fine, just blown down pipe and is clear, must be a split or come apart some were.

How do you know the pump is working? Just hearing the motor doesn't prove the rotor is still attached or gels haven't formed at the bottom of the reservoir. You need to see flow because the pump rotor could have separated or more likely, sediment has blocked the take-up pipe. In both cases the motor will run but no water will be pumped

Hi

Had this with mine the pipe runs up the cavity of the wing, past the clutch master cylinder and enters the cabin in the drivers side footwell near the fresh air vent, if you access the bottle through the front grill you can check if the pump is delivering water, if it is try spiltting the pipe after it enters the footwell and see if you are getting water to this location.

I think mine was eaten by a mouse!

Good luck.

You have to start at the pump.
Pull the pipe off the pump and run the pump. Does it produce a good flow? Does it produce a good pressure if you hold your finger on the pump outlet? A common problem with these pumps is the shaft rusts and expands cracking the impeller which then falls off or spins on the shaft.

If all is well use a surgical syringe full of water and see if you can pump water up the pipe.
If not then remove one of the washer jets/spray bar and try again. If no flow then the pipe is blocked. If it flows then the jets/bars are blocked.

All sorted now, started at the pump and ended up at pipe behind the dash. What a pig to get to not a lot of skin left on my knuckles.

You have a TVR and expect to keep your skin on ? hehe , wait till you have a problem with the door windows, shards of fibreglass are not pleasant as I know from experience.
