Chimaera PAS hoses
Discussion
Dear all,
I am trying to find an in-line filter with 5/8 fittings to filter the oil to the pump, as the rack has been rebuilt and all pipes and pump cleaned I thought it would be a good time to ensure that no more crap enters the rack and kills the seals. Has anyone fitted an in-line filter?

Hi Phil,
I have an inline Magnefine magnetic filter fitted in the 1/2 inch low pressure return hose, like this one (but not this size)...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUTOMATIC-TRANSMISSION-F...
I fitted it 6 years ago and it cost £12.50 via ebay delivered from the states. Prices seem to have gone up a tad since then!
Your post reminds me that I should probably change it for a new one.

Hi Rob,
Thank you for the information, seems the price has jumped a little... I have contacted the seller direct, hopefully I will have one beginning of next week.
As the TVR steering bars were never hardened during the fabrication process I am puzzled to why not more TVR owners are not having the same issue of scoring and PAS leaks and they are not looking to have filters fitted.
This is the second time the rack has been built, next time it is the Scooby route.
Thanks again for your help.
