Can anyone tell me what a black box with MO 559 ETI 1812 2K99 on it is please. Black box for speedo or part of the Meta alarm system maybe?
Has a six pin connector.
Can't take pic of it yet, just hoping someone recognises the MO599 label. Removal cancels garrantee also written on it.
Thanks

Cheers for that. Black box that translates speed sensor signal into something the Ecu can read.
Thought so as I too have a different Ecu that doesn't use the black box to assertain road speed.
Much appreciated smile

Search engines are great but it's sometimes nice to converse in the hear and now as historical threads are very informative but rather dull to read sometimes, often full of many good suggestions etc but can take sometime to get to the fault or actual issue.
Identifying this part is something many of us will have to do at some time or other and this thread might indirectly inform other owners browsing on hear now, today, in the present, new owners etc might gain some knowledge.

If all we do is trawl through past threads then the site would die off as most questions have probably been asked many times over but new owners wouldn't get the sense of community this site offers us.
Sounds like I've dissapointed someone for not having a deeper electrical problem biggrin

I agree. Other forums have a diy writeups or sticky threads. The last one would take a fair bit room though!

For those who know the chimp and each other the info flows freely but for new owners its quite a learning curve to learn the jobs to do.

Thanks. It wasn't so long ago I was new on here and very nervous about posting anything that made me look a complete,,,,, but now I don't care wink
I'm still very aware of how owning one of these cars is or can be daunting and how sites like these actually make it possible to make good decisions other than being advised by Tvr dealers,,, which all have vested interests. This is one of the few places we can thrash out the options available in both the hope we are helping others to gain valuable information and joy we've got something working properly.
Many Tvr owners are wealthy enough to just keep fixing until it's errr fixed and that's really great but as these cars get older inevitably attract people from more humble backgrouds and or car enthusiasts with a liking for spanners and doing there own thing, if all we had was Tvr dealers for advice the cost of keeping these cars on the road would rocket and most will end up at a scrap yard dead as a dead thing so this interaction and helping each other is what we should all keep in mind and is keeping many of these cars alive.
Really useful advice from experts who take their time to post on here is really what makes it the place it is.
Long may any and all contributions from posters be respected so we can all get along and learn the ins and outs of these cars, it's the cars we're here for after all not ego's.
Just for PC
I've got an ego the size of a barn door but I'm over it now biglaugh
Keep smiling smile
