Some of you may have seen my thread regarding AFM/MAF readings. This is all in relation to high fuel consumption. I am now of the opinion my injectors need servicing/replacing.

So does anyone have a set kicking around after an upgrade for example that they would like to part with.

The injectors are reliable, but a professional clean helps a lot. I used injector tune 2 yrs ago, as do many others.

Turnaround is only a few days and it improved matters a lot: http://www.injectortune.co.uk/Injector_Cleaning.ht...

Can they just be fitted as direct replacement or will I need to remap the ecu ?

If they are like for like yes
If they are a different injector the Ecu needs to know about it from the little I’ve read, so will need a re map.

I seem to recall fitting Vectra injectors in the Griff, then giving it to Joolz to remap.

Not exactly huge power gains, but delivery much improved.

I’ve just watched a series of introductory videos on mapping and the software.
VE tables and Timing effects including afr changes and how you implement them.
.
Fuel tables,
Cold start etc etc,
Idle control.
Debunked thumbup

I get why Dave COG enjoys fine tuning it so much now.

So injector opening times, ignition timing and accurate air mass measurement to maximise chosen AFR
As Dave has actually shown 13.7 AFR might not always be the best and a lean mix isn’t always going to get the most power either.

I’d take it to Joolz as you’d get his experience and knowledge Frank, you’ll be tuning mine next smile
These low speed fuelling points on the map might need tweaking to match your stepper reckon.
Trim it out for light load cruising, looks easy biggrin .
