Harness mounting - Photos?
Discussion
I want to install a 3-point harness in my Griffith (which should be the same for a Chimaera)
As the bible says there are 2 screw nuts welded on top of the very rear chassis.
At least my fingers think the can fell something like that.
I hoped the fibre glass chassis would be directly on top of der nuts, but it isn't.
Could anybody post a photo, how an installed 3-point harness is mounted, taken from inside the car, not from underneath.
Sorry for my poor English.
Best regards from Germany

Yes there are threaded sockets on top of the diff carrier. From underneath you can drill through the GRP to locate the inside positions. Spaces are needed to bring the fixing point above the rear floor.
As a matter of importance, it would appear that you don't have a roll bar. As such you shouldn't be installing harnesses because they will prevent you from moving out of the danger area in the case of a roll. In fact they will ensure that your head is removed

As above and that made me laugh!Hopefully our cars will just slide, even at speed but if they clip a kerb or dig into soft grass then anything can happen.
My aged father in law clipped a centre traffic island at about 20mph and flipped his A4 onto the roof..............
please dont fit harnesses without rollbars here is an idea of what can be done it also gives you an idea of where the mounting points are.

Thanks a lot for the picture of the roll over bar.
I have already seen such pictures / details.
What I have not seen is a picture how a "pure" 3 point harness is mounted (rear mounting).
I would be glad if anyone has such a photo.
Best regards from Germany

It is unlikely that anyone would fit a fixed harness without a roll bar. Certain death would be the expected outcomeI have already seen such pictures / details.

It's not easy to get an answer when everyone is telling you it's dangerous and you shouldn't do it

This is the chassis of my 1999 Chimaera. The harness mounting points are just inside the back top corners, in other words on the right of this photo. They are a threaded boss welded in between the mounts for the top rear wishbone attachment.
Your Griff will have these if it is not a very early car. Hope this helps.
