Cant comment specifically on the AJP but I have been doing something similar on my Griff whilst the engine is out.

1st thing I would consider is what does the chassis look like in that area ?

The reason I ask is that if the paint is just a little darker then you probably don't have a big heat problem an can probably use a reflective tape to keep it protected, at least this is what I am doing in my Griff. The tape I am using is pitking silver reflective with a fibreglass core, in theory it should be good to 1000c, not sure I believe that but it should be fine to wrap the chassis with. (see ebay or demontweaks)

I've also replaced the main heatshields and I'm considering Nimbus GII inside the chassis to reduce heat soak into the transmission tunnel.

Thats been done to mine whilst the engine is out as the paint/waxoil was slightly discoloured. I think they've used adhesive heatshielding similar to the tunnel.

Currently looking at Nimbus lite for the chassis..

Some DEI FLOOR & TUNNEL SHIELD for the tub behind it.

I used a 3M type of aluminium fibreglass backed heat shielding tape. I say type, because enough of the 3M stuff itself would cost more than the car.
