st tyres caused most of that or too heavy with the right foot but id say tyres are responsible mostly. Standing water !

I have a feeling I've seen that TVR incident before on here (??)

Date on the camera for that bit was April 2018.

The initial issue does not appear to be driver related, there was nothing on the road requiring sudden avoidance, no evidence of wind gust. The front end veers to the left, oil on the road doesn't result in such an abrupt direction change, oil is slow like ice. It looks more like mechanical failure, track rod, sudden tyre deflation, something like that. The driver reaction was to over compensate and ultimately turn into the barrier

I don't think the damage will be that bad, I would think it will be back on the road soon.[ Might be written off then repaired by the new owner.]

Agreed now i’ve looked harder, it doesn’t take much water to lift a Tvr especially if they are old tyres.
Clearly the car moves to the left then what looks like steering input appears to pull it to the right and into the barrier, it all seems a bit odd really. It could be a product of a worn Dif so the left rear spins up first then both wheels but it doesn’t look like the rear steps out of line, as mentioned above it looks like something broke on the left front causing the car to veer left which sets off a train of events. That’s not one of the front wheels sitting in the road at the end is it. Probably just bodywork.
That car shouldn’t have sustained much structural damage if at all. New nose and away wink
The way the car slithers around I’m wondering about tyres or pressures but as I say once car lifts your fked!

It's definitely a front wheel that sheers off and lands in the middle of the road!

I agree with Simon, pushing on in naughty weather.
Looking again and again, I think it goes left as it spins rear wheels and even a small amount of steering input controlling the slide left then slight panic as it’s almost along side the van or too protect passenger causes another over reaction and bang into barrier.
It all happens so fast it’s just very unfortunate by the looks of it.
I’m not sure the owner would be pleased with this splashed allover these pages without his/ her consent!

Wheel nuts loose then! It takes something severe to sheer a wheel off !
That probably explains the severe spin afterwards.

Looks like something still attached to the wheel. Probably, the hub sheared off at the ball joints.

Is it the left wheel ?
The one that hit the barrier and most likely the post, hmm but it already turned left before impact.
Track rod failure or broken old rusted wishbone, could be a number of things. Nasty that bugger!
I’m seriously impressed with the driver calmly parking it on the verge though, very considerate for other road users!!

It’s why I gladly put Rainsport3 winter tyres on mine. It’s a totally different animal and the grip level is so much better. I actually feel almost as safe in the rain as in the dry, mad but true. At the end of the day the tyre patch is the only bit of the car touching the road.
