New roof time......options........and best place to go.
Discussion
As per the title, i need to get the roof done this winter.
The stitching around the rear screen is failing as is the stitching everywhere else so need to do the whole thing.
For those that have done it, where is best? and what is best ? keep it standard, or smaller screen ?
Vary with who does it, but approx cost, although a top quality job is what i am after, so cost secondary.
Do they renew the rubber seals, especially between the targa and rear hoop, and the door window seals.
"Elephants ears" long gone on mine, so i assume they renew these.
Not a big fan of the totally square window i have seen in a few posts, and the original design is Crp as per the rear screen getting trapped.
Moving forward do not want to have to use a towel or similar to prevent damage.
Quite like this one, its a little smaller but still maintains that angled look, rather than square.

I went to D & C trim in Blackpool, the original TVR trimmers. I got the shorter back window & the plastic does not crease when the targa is folded.
All the seals where replaced. I could have got away with just a back window, but thought go the whole hog why not. Good for another 20 years.
Can i mention price on this forum well eight & i bit for every thing new.

Always thought that this would be the best solution.
Has it not been done because it would be just so expensive?
It was a common to the Triumph TR6's of the late sixty's - early seventy's. Having experienced it in those days, it was the perfect solution to a light breeze coming into the car and also the added benefit of listening to the exhaust note. Has it not been done because it would be just so expensive?

Even though the hood is still good, seals are a different story. Does anyone have a link to the correct (the one on the hood) seal to order?
You need to be careful, a couple of years ago some dealers/trimmers had been given the wrong size seal. No doubt some will still have them.ray von said:
This is mine. I got the dimensions off Karl (A900ss), however I can't find the email so measuring mine it comes out around 97cm top length 108cm long length. Whether his is the same is anyones guess though
Would you please measure the window depth.
I have just measured the standard rear screen on my Chimaera and it is approx 110cm top length and 142 bottom so both significantly bigger.
Standard rear screen depth is 34cm.
