You may well already know this.....but I didn’t, so there’s a chance some of you didn’t.

If you want something from Halfords, and know what it is in advance, it’s worth checking prices online ahead of going there, as they will match online prices in store.

I needed two sets of bike lights today, very little time to spare (the boss only decided yesterday that she couldn’t be arsed to walk to the pub on our little motorhome jaunt starting Friday morning, so I bought her a bike and we are taking two with us).

Checked what was available on the website, chose a nice little set of LED lights, front and rear, for a tenner. Two sets needed for both bikes (I can’t be arsed to walk if she can’t, and biking back pissed at midnight is always good giggle fodder).

No time to order online with delivery certainty. Went to the store, they had them......£17 a set. Coughed politely and directed them to their website. Young geezer said “we will of course match the online price”. Walked out with two sets for £20.

I bought a dashcam along with an extra powered mount and an extra power lead, all online. Went to pick them up, and took them home.

The dash cam box had the seal broken, and when i opened the box I found some extra 'unwanted' wiring and connections. Obviously been used before.

Tried phoning them but nobody answers the phone !

Drive back to the shop ( 10 miles back there). Turns out its the cam they use to test a customers car when the hard wire a dash cam in for someone.

I get a replacement, but no apology.

Then the extra powered mount turns out to be faulty so that has to be returned and exchanged - I used another branch to return that.

I should have known better......

Useless customer service and served by an employee who did not give a st about customer care.
