Ok so not the most exciting post but hopefully helpful to those like me who do their own servicing, if you're anything like me I always forget to buy a new sump plug washer come oil change time so end up down my local motor factors sifting through his box of assorted washers in the hope he'll have the right one.

Usually he comes up trumps but the last time I did this I had the last two in his box that suited so I thought I'd see if I could put some spares in stock and for a better price than buying them individually.

And here they are, 10 proper crush washers of the exactly the right size for just £5.35 a pack making each washer just over £0.53p and much better value than buying them individually.

Use product code 213961L or click on the following link, don't worry about the seller's description as the RV8 engined Range Rover Classic uses the same washer as the 200TDI model so it's perfect for a Chimaera or Griff too.

A pack of ten sees me sorted for the next 40,000 miles so no more trips to my local motor factors hoping he has the right one left in stock, as I say it's not the most exciting post but hopefully it'll help someone?

Dave.

What happened to your David Brown tractor sump plug with the magnet in it?

Got an ID measurement on those please Dave?

Few "left overs" from my workshop days, be silly to go waste 53p if any of these will fit wink

These (code 213961L) proper crush washers fit the David Brown tractor sump plug perfectly, TBH they will fit any 1/2" BSP plug.

My personal favorite is the Tool Station 97p Special biggrin

If you're feeling flush its merely a £1.50 investment to give you a brand new washer and sump plug every oil change, so I've abandoned my magnetic plug altogether, I run a FilterMag on a Royal Purple synthetic media filter so I found my magnetic sump plug simply wasn't picking up any ferrous metal at all.

The £1.50 combo shown below is not only cheap, it also works a treat with zero leaks wink

And being a flanged plug it wont get knocked and unwind itself with disastrous consequences yikes

Thanks for flagging these up, ordered and now received. I've also noticed that my local factors only ever seem to have a couple in stock at any one time.

I've also picked up a couple of the flanged fittings and might try one next time.
