My car (95 Chimaera) suffers from a lot of water spots all over the windscreen and door glasses. Interestingly (well not really) the water spots are also to be found on the inside surfaces too, not sure how that happened over time, maybe kept by the coast over the years?

Anyway, I've found that Meguiars glass polish shifts these hard water spots nicely with a bit of elbow grease but I was wondering if it is OK to polish over the tinted top section of the windscreen. Apologies if this is a bit of a daft question, it's just that I'd hate to merrily polish away at the weekend only to find I'd made a mess of things. I can't quite tell by eye if the tint is a surface addition or not. I will of course avoid the black edges on the inside.

If anyone has this hard water problem in the future then the Meguiars stuff is completely fine for this.

Picture enclosed of the hard water spots on the top of my windscreen on the left and a polished section to the left.

I did both inside and out in the end. Looks like a new windscreen now!
